Been here many times, never had anything less than perfect. With a nod to Northern Italian cuisine, this tiny neighborhood gem in North Beach, is always quaint with a romantic touch. Everything is impeccably fresh, prepared and served beautifully and attentive, friend,y service. Prices very...More

We had dined here several times in the 1990s, when it was still operated by the original owners/chefs. The menu was always limited, but the plates were delicious and served with care. Among our favorites were the roast pork and the beef carpaccio. Salads were...More

Not sure where to start? First they were not sure we were welcome. Then told there was limited menu. No pasta at an Italian restaurant. Ordered a salad that only had oil on it. Then polenta awful. I have not had this bad of a...More

If I find myself in the North Beach area, I don't go anywhere else but here. It's my favourite restaurant. I love that it's this tiny place which I feel has a lot of charm. They serve my favourite anchovy pizza, which I simply cannot...More

Tiny little Italian restaurant I decided to try because it was on a 10 best list and the prices were reasonable. A hole in the wall (aren't those the best!) that looked more like a pizzeria. I had the special homemade pumpkin ravioli in a...More

I eat at this restaurant every time I am in San Fran. The food is well above average and a good price. Great specials, menu items and wine list by the bottle or by the glass. My lunch was out of this world. Great focaccia....More

I tried for the first time this restaurant in Italian quarter and was quite disappointed with the food quality, it looks attractive from the outside and the menu is reasonable in price. We wanted to try and compare with another restaurant nearby but were disappointed...More

Visited this restaurant in North Beach area of San Francisco for dinner before the theater. A tiny space, but very good food and service. Portions large enough for sharing. Prices moderate for area. We came early on a weekday, but would advise advance reservations due...More

The food is so good. I had house made raviolis. The wine is good also and reasonably prices. Make sure to make reservations as this place is small. I will go back and cannt wait.

Stopped here after a show with friends. We split the pancetta pizza. It was artisanally crafted with seasoned tomato sauce, cured pancetta and slightly sweet mozzarella cheese on a thin, baked crust served piping hot. The accompanying Montepulciano red wine complemented the pizza perfectly. Service...More

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

As our name indicate, most of the food is cooked in the oven, like the best thin-crust pizza in town, thinly sliced pork loin roasted in milk, penne with meat sauce... And our extraordinary focaccia!
We only cook fresh produce for 26 years!
