We came for an early lunch. Our daughter warned that the waiting line could be quite long, but that was not our experience - our wait was short and we scored a pleasant outside table for three. We gorged ourselves on delicious quiche with ham and leeks, washed down with cafe au lait. For dessert there was a sublime lemon... More

All the raves you've heard are true. Their food is amazing and the loaves of bread are gigantic. Unfortunately the rants about the line are also true. Call ahead to order your loaves of bread and other food. You could enjoy Tartine without having to fight the crowds.

Tartine bakery has very good food but is way too crowded I literally almost waited for almost an hour and twenty minutes before I got served. But on the other side it is crowded because it is one of the best bakery's in SF and everybody wants their bakery's food.

Sensational bakery in the Mission. This is truly a place to rave about. It it up twice during a recent visit. Loved the bread pudding, cheese roll, and famous sticky bun.

Great lunch and bakery spot. Shared the pastrami sandwich as it was so big and rich...just delightful. Had a nice glass of red wine to wash it down on such a rainy day in December. The best dessert was the gingerbread tiles beautifully done. Would go back in a heartbeat next time we are in San Francisco. A little intimate... More

It's hard to understand why people stand in line to get into this bakery. The service is slow & after you get your order the dining space is so crowded it is uncomfortable. Then if all that wasn't bad enough the food is not very good.

My first visit to Tartine. We were not disappointed. New York Times, food columnist Mark Bittman has called Tartine his favorite bakery in the U.S. We are so spoiled to live in this city of incredible food, and this is definitely a new favorite. We shared Pain au Jambon, Pain au chocolat, and quiche. Magnifique!

There was a 10 min wait on Saturday night at 7 pm. The currant almond tart was very good. Country loaf was good, but not exceptional.

We waited in line ~15 min and were not disappointed. I came specifically for the croissant and it was excellent. Still warm, the outside shattered as i pulled the edges off, exposing the tender/spongy/delicious center. Ordered it with a single espresso which came with a soda water back. This is a "simple" French breakfast done with craftsmanship. My wife ordered... More

My GF will kill me when she reads this review. We were visiting SF in February and all I heard from her was "we have to go to Tartine Bakery" so we did. I thought I was in an episode of Seinfeld with The Soup Nazi :). After waiting in line for about 15 minutes we made it to the... More
