We had to stop here on our last trip in the city. Don't miss the morning bun! It was busy, but very efficient to get coffee and a pastry. Would love to back for other choices and enjoy it sitting down.

Amazing baked goods. A must try if you're in the Mission. Wish the line would move faster. Would try almost everything except that I have a waist line I'm watching.

If you're a serious home baker like my husband, Tartine is probably on your "to visit" list and you probably own at least one of Chad Robertson's beautiful cookbooks. We waited in line on a Saturday morning in order to pick and choose a variety...More

We enjoyed the frangipane croissants and the mushroom croque monsieur. Lines can be long and seating is limited.

Yes - pilgrimage. It's a must-visit, must-smell, must-see, must-taste. I went twice, and the first time I enjoyed it like a religious experience. The 2nd time, not so much. The workers are snooty, irritated at the constant pilgrims like me I suppose, and actually the...More

Great place to eat, but crowded, down the street from Bi-Rite Creamery if you like ice cream. If you like to walk get some food and ice cream and eat at Mission Dolores Park down and around the street. There are other eateries in the...More

This is apparently iconic and legendary. Based on my daughter's recommendation (and need I say, egging), we went and stood in the long lines that flow out into the street. Their fruity/creamy parfait like thing was great. Some seating outside and a little more inside....More

Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the
