The food is amazing. The wait staff is amazing. The food is SOOO good. The setting is beautiful and cozy .. but that also means the tables are a bit close. But that doesn't matter because all else is over the top. My first visit was Sunday brunch!! Entire menu had about a dozen entree's with about 6 being of... More

Minas is one of our favorite restaurants near theater and symphony. The menu choices are varied and if you are into cachaça, the Brazilian fire water, they have a wide array of them. My favorite dish is the moqueca de peixe, white fish in a lovely sauce of coconut milk and spices. The staff is friendly and attentive and there... More

We reserved for dinner before an 8pm ballet but because of demand could only make a 6:30pm reservation. We arrived on time but were told "5 minute wait". It turned into 15 and I began to panic. Not to worry - we were finally seated, ordered and were served in plenty of time for a leisurely walk to the theatre.... More

Birthday dinner with my Brazilian daughter in law and she was not disappointed. She was very excited to get some flavors from home so we sampled all the appetizers and shared a few entrees. Everything was delicious!

This place is cute quaint and the food is phenomenal. Hands down my number 1 place for the best calamari in San Francisco. Try the Samba explosion. I recommend this place to my clients in from out of town. Great staff very attentive.

This is a busy restaurant, that succeeds in delivering authentic Brazilian cuisine. Try their daily specials. They have a adequate wine list. Very friendly service, adds to the experience.

This is a modest restaurant in terms of setting but the food is good and feels authentically Brazilian. The caiprinha (national drink of Brazil) is super tasty, a lime and rum specialty that is tasty but a bit overpriced at $13 for a glass of mostly ice. The food is better. The Coxhina (chicken croquettes) were really tasty and went... More

Happened in to this place at Happy Hour. Very busy. Good appetizers and drinks. Not very large in size but large in flavors.

This is a comfortable, friendly neighborhood restaurant. I had the basic white wine which was lovely and bright, coconut rice (rich and heavy) and a fish chowder, excellent. My husband's chowder in a squash made a great presentation. The croquettes were smaller than on the streets of Rio but light and fresh. All in all, a good choice. We had... More

The food had great flavor, and was clearly authentic. My partner found his salmon to be over-sauced and a little too citrusy. My feijoada was tasty, but also deconstructed. I ate maybe half of what they served, and I still felt like I overate. The drink menu is amazing, I will say! Creative mixed drinks and a solid (if short)... More

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighbourhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
