I love Mediterranean food. It is super close to my office, it is among the many restaurants lining a busy Kearny Street during the work week. Small, hole in the wall restaurant with limited seating inside and a few tables outside. Baladie features most of the classics mezze, falafel, shawarma but also other treats, such as fattoush ~a bread and... More

Fast food, but good! Delicious kebab with fresh ingredients. They prepared you prune it immediately and continue walking with something good in the belly, haha. I recommend going.

Been coming here for 20 years for lunch, since the dot com boom when a belly dance bought you a free lunch. Excellent middle eastern food. The dip platter, chicken shawarma and sultan's iron bowl are highlights, but it's all good. Friendly people as well. No bathroom.

Stopped in for lunch on a recent SF trip. It has limited seating, including some outdoor tables, but is great for a quick bite to eat during lunch, and meals are easily taken to go. I had a chicken shawarma and it was good enough to remind me of shawarmas I have had traveling in the Middle East.

I'm not sure if I've been spoiled by NY falafels, but the falafels here were just a disappointment. They are very frugal with tahini, and the falafel balls themselves aren't very crispy or flavorful. Also they do this weird thing where the pita is cut in half and the falafel is served as two halves. Not sure why they don't... More

We went looking for this restraint because we wanted to try its type of food. Had its address and walked by it ones and almost a second time. The place is small and a bit ruff to look at but clean with two medium-size tables inside and two small tables outside. The selection is varied in the Mediterranean types Greek,... More

Small, whole in the wall restaurant with outside seating. The food was marvelous. We had the dip mean #1, I think. I had the #3 plate - both were excellent. Best meal for the money the whole trip.

Love this place. Boyfriend and I visited San Fran and came across it one day when we were walking. Excellent value, really healthy and nice guy who works there. We often ordered the iron bowl soup - yum. Wish I knew the recipe. Its a welcome break from all the American diners. Lavash wraps excellent and all chicken, lamb and... More

The Baladie Cafe is my first stop each time I arrive in San Francisco. It's a short walk from the hotel. A lamb shawarma wrap, hummus, babaganoush, tabouleh, with other accompaniments (pita bread, olives, feta, tomato, cucumber) is the perfect remedy to a long day of traveling.
