We had just got off a flight and were craving some healthy food. This place delivered! The smoothies and juices were excellent and the Avocado toast was spot on.

For a family of gluten free, vegan fussy people this café was the biggest blessing for our holiday. The staff were friendly and helpful. The kids loved the Hummus platter which was large and very cheap. The salads were fresh and tasty. The Gf DF German chocolate cake was soo good we returned the following 2 days just to buy... More

We had a relaxed lunch: Roast beet salad and chicken sandwich and side salad accompanied by excellent smoothies. There is a walk up bar to place your orders (queuing can be a problem at busy times) and food and drink are delivered to your table if you are eating in. Seating is fairly basic - but fine for a quick... More

Good place to go for some healthy food that is served quickly. All vegan (or veganizable) items are clearly marked on the menu; my tofu scramble was very good. They do not have table service; you order at the cashier and then wait for them to bring the food out to wherever you have found seating. On a recent busy... More

This restaurant is a chain and I just love the other two locations, so we were looking forward to checking out this place as well. Oh well, big mistake. Compared to the other locations, service at this one was quite rude - not a single smile and all servers had lots of attitude for some unknown reason. Not very welcoming... More

I believe this was the first location for this small, local chain. I ate here a number of years ago when the SF Chronicle published a "cheap eats" yearly review of local restaurants and I tried it. I believe it was even better at that time. I tried it again last Sunday. I and one of my guests had the... More

Description
Everything we serve is made with exclusively 100% organic and local ingredients. Our produce is seasonal from around the bay area, often picked only days before being served. Our poultry is free range and organic and seafood wild/sustainable. Almost everything served is made from scratch in our kitchens to ensure freshness and quality. The Plant's menu is diverse, comprised largely of contemporary California cuisine and Asian inspired flavors. Items range from freshly made juices and smoothies, salads, sandwiches, wholesome grain dishes and pastas, poultry and fresh seafood to 100% organic house-made pastries and desserts. The broad menu aims to provide organic options for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike. The Plants are designed and built using some of the greenest materials, in support of lowering emissions and impact on climate change. The Plant Cafe Organic has multiple locations throughout San Francisco. You can find us in the Marina, the Financial District, on the Embarcadero, in the Dogpatch, at Strawberry Village in Marin, Burlingame, and in the SFO Terminal 2! We also offer catering services, juice cleanse packages, and we can host your next special event at one of our beautiful locations.

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
