My wife and I stopped here for drinks and dinner. Chesty's bar had excellent drinks at a reasonable price. We also looked at the museum items at the Memorial before dinner. We both ordered seafood that was rather bland tasting. A lesson well learned - when going to a steakhouse, ORDER A STEAK!! What bothered us both was the dress... More

This restaurant simply is the best option in San Francisco short of an extravagant visit to one of the highest-end venues in the City. Great food, personal service, and wonderful views round-out the superb atmosphere. We always include a dinner here on a two-night stay in the City.

Yes, it is true the view is spectacular and the food is very good. But the experience from the time we sat down and throughout the meal was terrible. There is a certain level you should expect from a restaurant of this caliber. If you keep that in mind, the view and the food can mitigate the terrible service.

Breathtaking view. Get a window seat. Service was lacking as our food hit the table while we were still eating apps and the apps that we were done w didn't get cleared. However, the server was polite and was quick to provide when we asked for something. Wine list was small but adequate and steaks had good flavor. I would... More

A colleague introduced me to Leatherneck Steakhouse last year, and I just returned for another wonderful dinner. The restaurant is located high up in the Marine Hotel, a few blocks up the hill from Market. The food and service are outstanding. The atmosphere is an added bonus. You feel a bit like you have stepped back in time to dine... More

We selected this restaurant for its location to our hotel, Trip Advisor recommendations, and for its view. We were pleased with being promptly seated at the time of our reservation. The waiter and staff were personable, pleasant and efficient. My husband and I enjoyed delicious prime rib with two additional sides and bread pudding for dessert. It was all quite... More

Awesome dinner, very fancy and fun. Waiters were very friendly and knowledgible. View from the bar area was charming as the city lights illuminated various sights, drinks were stiff and plentiful. Planning return trip to explore the city further and enjoy the overall experience of San Francisco.

While staying at Marines Memorial Hotel we always make a point of having at least 1 dinner at the Leatherneck. Steaks are always beautifully prepared and served with an appetiser of iceberg lettuce wedge with beautiful blue cheese sauce. The service is attentive and the views are just lovely across San Fran.Treat yourself to a good steak dinner you won't... More

On the top of the hotel, you'll find this elegant restaurant. There was high class, but not too stiff. The guests were either working mates or families who celebrated ones birthday (three shortly after each other got a song and a cake) Great service and I especially enjoyed the roasted garlic that was served together with the bread. Appriated also... More

My wife and I were in the mood for a nice steak and learned that the Leatherneck Steakhouse was just around the corner from our hotel. Being a former Marine I had no doubt where we were eating. The food was excellent as was the service. The restaurant is located in the Marine Memorial Club Hotel. The next time I'm... More

Description
Leatherneck Steakhouse is located on the 12th floor of the Marines' Memorial Club & Hotel, a historic military club and hotel. The restaurant serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday nights with live piano music in a very romantic ambiance with candlelight and black and white linens. The views of the city and Union Square are spectacular. The food is gourmet contemporary American cuisine with a good offering of steaks and seafood and at least one vegetarian alternative. Sides and desserts are amazing. There is an extensive wine list and a full bar.
