Locals who enjoy Catch treated me to lunch. The portions were generous and everyone was happy with their choices. The service was very good. The place was fairly empty at the early lunch hour we chose so it was hard to get a sense of atmosphere, but we enjoyed the company and the food.

Of the 20 or so eating experiences we had in San Fran, this was sadly the poorest. Which is a shame as the staff were friendly and the food was 'ok'. The portions were small and overall, the higher prices turned this into an 'average' experience at best. Almost over attentive service, as plates were whipped away as the last... More

Two of us had dinner on December 6. We each started with a soup. My associate had the lobster bisque. He reported that it was average. I had the French Onion and it was excellent. We both ordered fish. He had the black cod and I had the salmon. Both were served hot and were very good. Service was friendly... More

The 6 of us went on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We were warmly greeted and got a great table. Cocktails were excellent. All of our food, including the appetizers were superb. This was the third time that I had dined there and all three times both the service and the cuisine were excellent. Oh and we parked almost in front... More

Catch is a lot of fun. The pianist during brunch made up for a limited vocal range with an almost unlimited enthusiasm for his showtunes repertoire. The guys at the bar sing along and everyone is having a good time. The food is good and reasonably priced but this isn't about the food. It's the experience, which is a you-can't-be-unhappy-here... I had three fanny bay oysters ($2.50 each) - very, very good, some of the best i have ever had. I had two glasses of Josh Cellars Chardonnay - which was ok (not great) $$7.50 and the Seafood Cioppino for $24 which was served with sourdough baggette topped with some kind of nice cheese and herbs and roasted... the cioppino... While visiting San Francisco recently, I was treated to a late-ish Friday night meal at Catch, at the recommendation of a friend who lives in the city. I had had a late lunch so I opted for a delicious seafood chowder and salad. One friend had short ribs, another, the featured fish special and we shared the bread pudding dessert.... More

Overall, quite a good spot for dinner or brunch. For dinner, the lobster pasta is not to be missed. For brunch, I quite enjoyed the crab sandwich. Service is good - albeit better at night.

Our first night in San Francisco we decided to try Catch as my wife and I where staying nearby. The food was delicious and very tasty. We had Calamari as a starter followed by Sea Bass with Crab risotto. Jump on the F-Line and stop at 16th Street and you will not be disappointed

Thank Oliver S
