Nice place to meet with friends. The atmosphere was nice and the wine selection was extensive. The wait staff for the most part was pleasant but one of the servers seemed a bit rushed and not so happy but that had no impact on our wine :-) Overall it was a pleasant spot to grab a drink prior to dinner.

We stopped in for wine and some appetizers. The wine selections were good and employees knowledgeable about their offerings. The appetizers were tasty. Overall pricey for drinks and appetizers but we had a good time.

With all the choices of wine bars in the Marina District we decided to try Nectar. I had a red wine flight from Chile, France and Napa which was very good. We also had the flatbread and sample of different cheeses and meats. Very good prices for happy hour also. Service was attentive and the waiter was very knowledgeable about... More

Came here for a couple of glasses of wine after dinner, and watch the world go by. Very attentive staff that knew their wine!

We stayed next door at the Cow Hollow Motor Inn and this place became our nightly spot for wine and cheese before dinner. Go early as it can get busy. Loved it!!!

We visited Nectar for an early evening light dinner. Tapas were OK, but nothing particularly different or outstanding. Service was a little slow, and no apology made by staff.

Didn't eat here but went twice in one week to sample from the extensive wine list. The staff were really friendly and the wine was gorgeous. Fun times!

Fabulous experience! We came here on my birthday while honeymooning. My husband saw it got good reviews, so we came here for happy hour before dinner. Amazing happy hour prices, and outstanding service. This was a highlight of our trip! Very generous pours on both of our tasting flights, and excellent "snacky" dishes (you HAVE to order the truffle oil... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
