Went here for a romantic wedding day dinner. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. The service was amazing and we felt very special on our day as they made sure everything was taken care of. The food was great and the wine list was extensive. Highly recommend.

Perfect special evening with 3 amuse bouche, wonderful smoked sturgeon, pumpkin seed and lentils second course, tender lobster tail, and choice of desert tid-bits--all delicious with wonderful wines. We think of this restaurant as our #1 dining experience in San Francisco.

The food is great, various courses, including some complimentary courses from the chef. I found the food to be slightly on the heavier side, and the presentations not impressive. Maybe going in, I had higher expectations, but I am not convinced this place deserves all the accolades. The dinning room is a bit lacking! It looks like an old room,... More

In September, we had the pleasure of dining at Acquerello – and what a dinner it was! First, the restaurant is lovely, from the moment that one enters. It reminded me of a re-purposed church from the turn of the previous century, though there are a few aspects, which reminded me of a grand bank, as well. Whatever, the restaurant... More

Superb in every respect. The cuisine, the wine, the service, and the ambiance were all first-rate. But more important was the attitude. It seemed like it was every person's personal mission to be warm, friendly, welcoming and attentive, and to ensure we had a wonderful dining experience. And we did!

This is the second time we have eaten here and I must say that while the food is good, it's not uniformly outstanding. Given the price ($95 for 3 courses, $120 for 4 and a whopping $325/person for the seasonal truffle tasting), I have to say I was disappointed. Our bill, with a reasonable barolo ($115) came to $386 before... More

It is two star Michelin restaurant, so expectations are very high. Parking: there is no dedicated parking, there is no wallet parking, we were lucky to get parking on Van Ness. Area: location is not the best in San Francisco, lot of homeless around, however place looks secure Visit: we were meet by staff , did not wait a minute... More

I really tried to find something wrong but it was impossible. This is by far the best restaurant there is. I dare anyone to find another that is in the same class. First of all the restaurant itself is spectacular. Built inside a retired chapel, the ambiance is perfect. The service in one word is OUTSTANDING. Now to the food.... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
