We visited sushi hunter and went for the buffet. It was loud and crowded and the waitress was in a rush, we asked a couple of questions but the waitress just laughted at us and made the other staff to point and laught at us with her. Very uncomfortable. It took forever to get the food, the waitress did not... More

We went there last night and the Sushi was very disappointing. Don't waste your money on the "all you can eat sushi"! The amount of fish they used was minimal and it was the scraps from the fish used for others. Originally we ordered from the menu but our server suggested the all you can eat. We wish she hadn't!... A large group of us decided we wanted to visit a sushi buffet restaurant whilst visiting San Francisco and found this place. We called ahead as there was a large group (12 of us) and told them that half wanted the buffet and half just wanted to order off the menu. We were told we cannot mix menus so then... More

So I went in this place to try all you can eat menu. Sushi is really good and fresh! All you can eat menu is a different menu, so when you get a seat, ask at the waitress that kind of menu, and remember, if you pay by cash, instead pay 27$ per person, you will pay 25$! It's a... More

This sushi was just okay. Nothing to rave about. It's a small restaurant, and they have all you can eat sushi. Be warned though, everyone in your party has to have all you can eat, or you have to divide your table up. The all you can eat sushi is ordered fresh and prepared for you. You can also have... More

We popped in here for a quick lunch and could have been put off by the decor, but we didn't know the area and so persevered. I'm so glad we did. We had bowls of pork broth with ramen noodles and it was delicious, and very filling for a reasonable price. Other diners were enjoying sushi and other dishes.

We had the buffet here and enjoyed it- especially enjoyed the Himachi and Red Dragon roll. Portions are large and fresh. Service is excellent. We never felt rushed. It's a small place so they have a good handle on things. We'd eat here again and recommend to friends.

This is a great place for a group of friends. It's lively and the sushi isn't bad. We had the extended all you can eat menu plus all you can drink hot sake. It's a fun place to do sake bombs! service was great! Our waitress was full of energy and very patient and nice. I want to have my... More

Many many years ago, I went to sushi hunter with a friend. It was my first sushi experience and I loved it. Since then, I was there on a regular basis. Enjoy!

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
