We had many choices as we walked through Little Italy. We where met on the street at the ousting sign advertising the menu. The host in his thick Italian accent made everything sound wonderful. As we peered inside there was a moderate crowd with much laughing, talking and simply put people having a good time. So we gave it a... More

If you like good Italian food this is the place to go. The food is fantastic and you get plenty of it. We eat here frequently and have always had a great meal. Service is great, people are friendly and kind.

Nice authentic Italian restaurant. Several entree choices. Good house chianti. Carbonara is delicious. Italian wait staff. Reservations accepted. Front tables sit near windows with street view.

I highly recommend Mona Lisa in San Francisco if you're looking for the North Beach Italian experience. The food is really wonderful! You can order homemade pastas with rich sauces in all the classic forms. They have fish, salads, soups, appetizers and pizza in addition to bread and pasta dishes. The wait staff is the real thing: Italian, super friendly,... More

A meal here isn't a cheap proposition but that isn't what this place is about. The menu, the mood, the decor and ambience all point to this being about a quality experience and amazing food. This is the kind of place you go for an anniversary meal or a special date, or a birthday etc as it isn't for the... More

Had a reservation and still waited 45 minutes for a table. Slow service. Food was ok. High portions. My chicken came with 2 patties. I took one home. very expensive. This place is overrated.

We made a reservation for 7 and were seated immediately. Our party ordered the Lasagna, Lobster Ravioli, and Alfredo. All three items were amazing and would highly advise trying them. We also had the Flute Limoncello which had the best flavor and a welcomed delight after the pasta. I would recommend this to anyone that loves Italian the menu has... More

We have been here before, many times over the years. The pasta is great, the owner is super dedicated to good food and service, and the wait staff chat back and forth all night in Italian. Not a plastic, boring adventure. If you want total quiet...go to a mortuary. If you want your serve to do something special, done before... More

From the interesting handmade Fiat parked out front to the entertainment industry celebrities that Maurizio has met over the years, you know this place is unique and quite diverse in their menu offerings. Stick with what they do best !!!! Antipasti and a good bottle of wine to start. Get a good primitivo or montepulciano recommended by staff. Skip the... More

We were greeted with a friendly and enthusiastic staff and seated by the window. Waiters were friendly and knowledgeable- they were also attentive to our needs without hovering. Food was good; we will return.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
