Scoma's was recommended to us by a local San Franciscan. It's right by touristy Fisherman's Wharf, but classier than you'd guess based on location. Excellent service. Delicious food. Kids proclaimed calamari best they've had ever had (a pretty tough benchmark). Wife enjoyed a beet salad. Said it could have been dinner. Lobster bisque excellent. Shrimp and scallops a la Gannon... Ok, I heard about Scoma's, but never got around to visiting until now. The food was delicious! I ordered the Caesar salad (I should have ordered four salads, it was so good), linguine with clams (so good and so fresh) and white wine from Napa (so buttery!). The food and wine was SO good. I spent about $80 for one... More

Our server was amazing, but the food was only decent and not very memorable. I expected more from a seafood restaurant on a pier. Overly expensive for what you get. Hit the open market area, you can eat outside, get just as good food and for a fraction of the price.

Scoma's was a great place for a late lunch - nice bar selections and a lot of options to choose from on the menu. The view of the wharf is nice and the atmosphere inside is very cozy. Wait staff was excellent as well. Prices were on the higher side, but compared to the other options at the wharf, Scoma's... More

Best seafood I found in the wharf area. Was there 4 days and tried many of the pier places, most are gross. They cooked the seafood perfectly! The service is amazing and atmosphere was fun. Need reservations tho.

We love the food at this restaurant. There is a great selection of seafood and items for everybody. Recommend this as a special occasion place as it is fine dining. Cioppino is wonderful and all entrees are well prepared. Staff is attentive and friendly.

The appetizer and entrees were okay, not good. Some of our food was undercooked and not prepared properly. Example, scallops had sand in them still, calamari was chewy. Service was mediocre. Location was great. Too high price for quality of dinner.

Ok, the food was good, but not great. The waitstaff have been working there for years. Their white waiter coats needed replacing. Our server was grumpy and short with the other tables around us as they dared to ask questions. I get it, tourists are annoying, but that is your business. Food came quickly and as I said was well... Although a bit pricey (expected for fishermans wharf) the food was DYNAMITE! Great service also. I've been tasting New England style clam chowder from Maine to south Florida and yesterday in San Francisco: this was real good. Still; the best so far is Molly Goodheads in Ozona Florida on the gulf side.
