It’s a very non scripted and almost well hidden restaurant, we actually walked past it twice before finding it. The Letter of the signage has fallen off and they can’t be bothered to fix it. Food was generally very good for real tim sum. Food...More

I was walking on Grant and looked up the hill and saw the faded sign on the wall facing Grant. I was amazed to see that it was still there. I took my honor society high school students there for lunch back in 1967 and...More

This out of the way dim sum eating spot is seriously one of the best you'll find!!! We went for the dumplings... we ventured out for the bbq pork buns and ended with the rabbit shaped dim sum. We highly recommend all!!! Typically we've found...More

Over the last 15 years we continue to come back just to this little hole in the wall restaurant when we visit San Francisco. I think it has changed hands a few times and each time it loses some of its charm. The wait staff...More

Went specifically for the dim sum. And we were not disappointed. Being the oldest dim sum restaurant in town, they stood up to their pedigree. Will go here again.

Food was fine but they were sold out of half the good dishes. Took us 20 min to get seated even though we were at the front of the line and there were several vacant tables. Took us about 1.5 hours to get the 7...More

Eventually there's a tipping point where no matter how good the food is, it's just not enough to make up for outrageously bad service, e.g. we asked for water refills from multiple servers and still no refills 20 minutes later, waiting an hour for something...More

Restaurant is not apparent from the street as it’s nestled on the side of a building. Restaurant is nearly 100 years old and still going strong. The walls are plastered with pictures of the past. There are pictures of Miss Chinatown Pagaents from as far...More

The food here is incredible! I've been a couple of times and each time it is consistently delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The only problem is both times I've gone, the service was very slow. The first time we were...More

You have to look for this place. It's not very big but the food is absolutely amazing. We tried several things and really loved them all. The service was very good.

As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's
Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique
neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic
streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs

dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who
gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or
practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands,

I believe that it is. This place claims to be the oldest continuous running dim sum house in San Francisco. Very good.
