This spot is just a few minutes walk north of la taqueria, the highly reviewed spot I planned to visit but which was unfortunately closed for the holidays when I arrived. I wasn't at all disappointed with this place. It's an authentic local joint. So everything is the real deal. Ordered the chicken super burrito $8.50 and was pleased. Must... More

We stopped in for a quick lunch and left with satisfied smiles. Friendly folks took our order at the counter and quickly brought out our burritos. Homemade flavors and a nice fresh taste. Chips and salsa verde, along with Mexican sodas completed the meal.

Stayed just up the street from here and didn't have time to head out to grab a Mission taco or burrito, but it didn't matter at all. Walked in and felt like we had been transported to Mexico. This place serves home-cooked authentic Mexican fare. Great food, more than reasonable price, especially considering the portion sizes! Bring your appetite! I... More

Had a excellent experience here. Food was very good (was not expecting the authetic taste so close to the shore... lol) The owner was so friendly and gave us alot of information about the area. Will definitely visit again when I go back to San Francisco.

Yummy taco with fresh quacamole. Lots of workers and locals there which is always a good sign. Tacos are small traditional sized, 3-4" soft tortilla doubled.

Located a few streets back form the bustle of Fisherman's Wharf, this taqueria offers no frills, home cooked Mexican food. Our group had the super burrito with the BBQ pork and grilled chicken along with a quesadila. All of the dishes were delicious and put more expensive restaurants to shame. Worth a quick detour when you are hungry

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
