Much of San Francisco's little Italy is alas overpriced, Americanized, dingy, and inauthentic (of which only the dingy part applies in comparison to the Italian restaurants that they all claim to emulate). Worst of all is the manner in which many of the restaurants in little Italy rush their customers and rely heavily upon fruit-bomb California wines which pair strangely... More

The place is nice, spacious, staff is so friendly and even funny -not sure if they are all really italian, but they try to fake it at least and they are great! Food is good and not so expensive

It's authentic Italian food AND also great! The taste was just perfect, like the size of portions and the mix of ingredients. Well located and warm atmosphere, the super nice and friendly staff makes you feel like at home. We went there twice during a 3 days stay in SF and we would have definitely come back again if didn't... More

This was hands down the best eating experience I had on my trip in San Fran. The food was great and the service was even better. Every restaurant in San Fran should take notes on how these boys handle their restaurant 👍🏻

The food is authentic and wonderful. The historic building's location is unique and its exterior is iconic. Its interior is special. The ambience is right on target. They bring in Italian waiters, who are cheerful and playful, as well as very passionate and knowledgeable about food. I have been their with family and with international business clients and the experience... More

The first thing you will notice when you walk into this restaurant is the amazing atmosphere. The most wonderful and enthusiastic staff greet you as soon as you arrive. As for the menu- I recommend letting the staff suggest options for you. I was lucky enough to eat here most nights of my time in San Francisco and I wouldn't... More

Went here on a recent Friday night. Wow, what a great place. To say the waitstaff is enthusiastic would be an understatement! We were greeted and waited on like we were long lost friends, even though this was our first time here. The food was also excellent. I had the lamb chops, which were very good and my husband had... Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
