We had a team dinner here in a very nice private room upstairs in the back. Everything was setup for us well, and the menu had some great choices on it. All the food was really excellently done, and delicious. Very creative appetizers, in particular. My high impression of Roy's is maintained.

We actually have been to Roy's on Maui and Oahu....and happy to say we had an excellent meal and service at Roy's in San Francisco. We had dinner for our Anniversary and the food and service was exceptional. Did not mind paying good money for both! They also asked about food allergies and were very attentive during our entire meal... More

We celebrated my aunt's birthday over there, and I called the restaurant when making the reservation. They were so sweet that they gave us a free lemon tart and the dessert was really good. We order four dishes and most of them were very tasty. We wanted to order some alcohol-free drink, and they don't have a lot of choices... More

Was a great meal at Roy's - service was attentive and food was well-prepared. Canoe appetizer is a must; had the filet and shrimp which was a nice option. Pineapple cake for dessert is a Roy's classic as well. A chain restaurant, but it does not have a "chain feel" when dining, upstairs section is great for larger groups and... More

Being on a gluten free diet has been a humbling experience; most people tend to see me as a vegan and I am usually fed green salads, not at Roy's. The waiter politely asked me if I eat meat, then suggested a delicious dish. I also had a gluten free salad choice. Bravo guys, and thank you!

No valet parking, we had to call the restaurant to find out where is the closest parking lot, took us about 15 minutes to get to the lot due to traffic and one-way streets. Bad start. The restaurant was not busy, I thought the service was a bit slow. The wait staff was courteous. I had the Miso Butterfish, which... More

If you’re looking to spend a lot of money on very unimpressive food then Roy’s is the place for you. The exorbitant price you pay for dining at this chain restaurant goes to meet the overhead of having a downtown San Francisco address. You are not paying for careful preparation or exquisite taste. The food is memorable only for its... More

While I think the regular menu is overpriced, the happy hour menu is excellent, well priced and quite filling. Get the ribs and sushi rolls as they are killer. Loved the crab cakes also. You cannot go wrong at HH. wine and cocktails are $8

Very good Hawai/ Asian food. Service was fast and yet nice, good mood overall. Place is big enough for groups. Pricey as many SF downtown expect 120 Usd per head with drinks

Th trio appetizer is a good option to split for the table and they can size it for your group. The appetizers are excellent. The entrees were very good. The food service was also very good. It can get a bit loud during the dinner rush but we catch the end and it did get better after it started to... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
