Had appetizers and cocktails while watching the storm roll in over San Francisco. Service was attentive and friendly.

This place is all about the view. We did a high tea for our anniversary and loved what we were served. Tad expensive though, but doable for special occasions. Servers are extremely courteous and attentive and the overall experience, pleasant. I would suggest that you hit the bar at night for drinks and skip meals.

My daughter and I stayed at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins hotel in April, 2016. We loved the hotel -- great walkable location -- and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Top of the Mark. The views must be among the best in San Francisco, the food was simple but tasty and the service was terrific! It was a friendly, "happening" place... More

This was located close to our hotel and we decided to go for a drink one evening. It really depends if this is your type of place or not. It is formal in style with someone playing the grand piano. The staff were polite and courteous and brought us to a table. It is expensive for a drink and the... More

Top of the Mark probably has the best view over the city you'll find. We popped along one evening as were staying down the road in another hotel. Be warned though if you want a window seat specifically you may have to wait to get one. We did but were only about 5-10 mins although this was fairly late on... More

We went for late night drinks after a show, and the view was mesmerizing. The cocktails were well made though a bit pricey, as you'd expect with the location and view. Our waitress was friendly and efficient, and I actually appreciated the fact that she was older and slightlyround-- did not fit the mold of the trendy hot 20-something year... More

Great place for a cocktail. Don't be shocked when the bill arrives. Someone has to pay for that view. The view is a breathtaking experience that shouldn't be missed when visiting the city.

I went to the the Top of the Mark with my husband and adult daughter. We were seated by a window. The views were amazing before the fog rolled in. The martini selection was great. They did have a piano player that came to play about 15 minutes before we left. We did have to pay cover charge because of... More

Ok, so you have to pay a little more for a drink and pupus, but THE VIEW! I kept looking at the Golden Gate Bridge and Fort Point, WOW! I am not sure though, if the $135 Christmas buffet was worth it though, they need to work on temperature control and variety, though I realize they are constricted by space.... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
