I grew up in the north east where seafood was never a big deal, it was the standard. When I moved I realized lobster, muscles, crab and other wonderful ingredients were sought after the world over. Proud as we are in that region of course...More

They give you a white or red wine while you wait. Wonderful family style atmosphere, friendly service and the most excellent Ciuppino in San Francisco. Glad I finally made it here. Sometimes, if you walk in, you’ll have better luck than trying to reserve.

Great seafood restaurant. Quite tight and noisy at street level but a bit more spacious and quiet downstairs.

Cioppino and Swordfish special with capers. California red. First, I am from out of town and might not be fair. Never had cioppino and wanted to try this SF dish. The place is really cool. Ate Saturday lunch at the counter, right in front of...More

We loved the seafood! My daughter had sand dabs and my husband had prawns and scallops. Both were delicious. Fun atmosphere, fair price, fast service. Owners were there checking on tables. Great place! Our favorite restaurant on trip to San Francisco.

Group of women ate here and no one complained about the food! They are known for their copping and deservedly so. It was delicious! Shared by two of us and have plenty to eat.

This is just one of those places that you love on every level. It is alive, bustling and delicious. It almost feels like a N.Y.C. joint in all the best ways. You cannot beat the food. We've had almost all the fish specials, a great...More

We went there with no recommendation and were very surprised. Food, service and ambience is very good. We were lucky for having a seat at the corner, which is possible to see them cooking and preparing all the plates and it was awesome. Highly recommend!!!...More

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

I think they will split a regular order for two persons, but I don’t think there are half orders. It’s very reasonably price and terrific.

There are several options all within walking distance of this restaurant. We ended up in a saloon that was 2 blocks last away that had some really fin blues bands playing. Once you find the restaurant, just walk around... More
