Also known locally as the Mennonite bakery, this bakery is located in a home in town with parking in the back. I ordered a carrot cake birthday cake which was very rich. The peanut butter icing doughnuts were amazing. There had also favorites like knots and cinnamon rolls, etc You really must visit. I believe they close at Noon at... More

I bought 2 apple fritters. Tom, my friend, bought a bear paw and 2 donuts. We added a bag of oatmeal-raising cookies. I cannot begin to find the words to describe how delicious each item was. It is a small family bakery located in the back of their home, I think, and it's in a residential neighborhood tucked away from... More

Stopped by and picked up several different kinds of pastry. Was too late for the glazed, but they did have the glazed doughnut holes. Yum!! My husband's favorite was a cherry filled pastry. He has been wanting another one every day since. The pumpkin bread is delicious and so moist. Love it. The bear claw and the red velvet was... More

This is the place most people refer to as the Mennonite Bakery. It is built onto the back end of a house, in the middle of a residential neighborhood. They must have set up shop before zoning laws came about. There are only 5 or 6 parking spaces and they are often all taken. The bakers and staff are really... More

Delicious doughnuts, hand made. Totally worth every calorie. This place knows how to do fresh and yummy. The Bear Claw is fantastic. Everytime I come home we must get a box of doughnuts for the family to share. My mouth is drooling just thinking about a homemade treat from here!!

Off the main drag, on the side of a house, this Mennonite bakery was delicious. The best donuts I've ever had - glazed donuts stuffed with apples or lemon as well as other fruits. Oatmeal raisin cookies were great. Only wish we bought more.

This bakery may be small in size, but it is huge on flavor. The bread and yeast rolls are some of the best I have ever tasted. The doughnuts are all tender and delicious. You need to get there early if you have a certain item in mind because, like most good things, they don't last long. The people are... More

Burkholder's is an 'experience'. It is owned and run by the local Mennonites. They make everything from the doughnuts to the fresh breads and other pastry goodies, butter, etc. Open Tuesday-Saturday. If you are not there in the early AM for your doughnuts, you are left with 'remains'! This is where the locals from the 4 state region get their... More
