This is a convenient place to stop for a break from sightseeing. It is a typical tavern with a good menu and good service. We found the food average. There does not seem to be many other options in this small town.

We toured the battlefield New Year's morning and were ready for lunch when we happened upon this tavern. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, not knowing what to expect. We got crab cake sandwiches, a ruben, a pork chop special, and grilled cheese, as well as fried pickles and crab dip. Everything was good! I... More

If you're looking for fancy, don't bother. If you want good food fairly quick, this is your place. It'd be very easy for this place to not care about service or food, being one of not many places to eat in Sharpsburg, Instead, they go the opposite route and take good care of you while putting darn good food on... Average to good food--simple fare. Warm setting. Friendly feel. Go there twice and they remember your name. The bartender Campbell is great. He's also a college football coach so don't do anything to vex his sweet demeanor. LOL. Fine selection of liquor. Try the local Antietam Ale. It's worth the trip.

We walked to the tavern from the Inn at Antietam after arriving on a Friday evening. We ordered the French fry pickels, fish and chips and a burger and enjoyed them all. The dip for the pickels was especially good. They have a nice selection of craft beers and we had quick service. We enjoyed live music while we ate.... More

I stopped here for a late Lunch/Early dinner after walking and visiting the battlefield all day. Service was excellent, food came quickly and was very good. Beer was cold, and the bill was very reasonable. I had the French Dip and it had great flavor and came with just the right amount of Fries. Dinners should remember this is a... More

My husband and I ate here before delving into Antietam National Battlefield. When we arrived, there was one other group in the bar. We were seated right away and waited on just as quickly. Our waitress was very nice and checked in on us regularly. The food was good. We started with the Pickle Fries (YUM). My husband had the... More

This is basically a casual bar in downtown Sharpsburg, really just one of a few places to eat dinner in Sharpburg. As noted in other reviews, their credit card machine was broken when I was there so it was cash only (there is an ATM inside). The food was not bad and not too expensive. They did have a great...
