Menu choices were surprisingly large for this out of the way place. We tried the trout, steak, brisket (special of the day). All were good. We also had breakfast one day at the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was fine. The breakfast menu item we ordered was just OK, and it took ages to get (even though the restaurant was almost... More

I have been to a dozen national park restaurants. Some are fancier, some very basic, but you cannot go wrong here. Perfect views and solid food. The ribeye was my favorite but you cannot go wrong with the fish tacos, trout, or chicken fried steak.

Since this is the only restaurant at the resort, we were unsure about the quality of the food. I had a fantastic fish taco and my husband had a very good prime rib. The server was very friendly and provided top notch service.

Dinner with a spectacular view of the Chisos Basin and Window! The food and service matched the view.

Unless you're staying at the Lodge, you have to travel a distance to get to the restaurant, but it's worth the trip. Fabulous views and very good food.

This restaurant is the only restaurant in Big Bend. We ate here almost every day of our stay. We realized quickly that the lunch menu was larger and a bit cheaper. So, we would try to hit it for a late lunch after a day of hiking. We had the cheeseburger, chicken parmesan, chicken quesadillas, the breakfast buffet( which was... More

At a peak time for bookings the Mountain Lodge and Campground appeared pretty full. My wife and I added our name to the table reservation list and adjoined to the bar to wait. After two excellent margaritas, only $7 each our table was ready. The large restaurant was full but immediately after being shown to the table our waiter introduced... More

Well, we were a little disappointed eating off paper products but do understand they have water problems from time to time. The menu has changed but for us the changes will grow on us eventually. If it wasn't for the beautiful scenery of the park we mostly would not return to this restaurant for lunch. Packing a picnic lunch might... More

So surprised a national park had such a nice restaurant. We ate at bar because the bartender was amazing and made our night so much fun. Wish I could remember her name. It was oct. 24th. The prices were so reasonable. Great black bean burger! Breakfast was so good also.

We had two meals here (dinner and lunch) and both were excellent. I had swordfish. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the vegetables were not too crispy - just right. The waitstaff was very attentive, too, making for very pleasant meals.
