I loved it! My daughter took me there while visiting her. I wish I could go back right now. So unique all around and the owner is a real gem too.

Travelling home from vacation and stopped in for lunch. Lucky to get a table. Jambalaya for me and amazing salad with chicken. Save room for the pecan pie!!!
Thanks Patty! Glad you found us!
If you are passing by Mortlach and this place is open.....you have to stop and have one of the best meals you will have in Saskatchewan. I have stopped a few times and never been disappointed. Amazing food and even better people.
Thanks Russell! Always great to see you.
Worth the drive. Beautiful restaurant , amazing service and delicious food. I had the surf and turf. 6 oz steak was perfect and so were the 4 plump shrimp.
Thank you!
Little Red Market Cafe is a cozy, warm and quirky little restaurant that offers amazingly delicious food and the local towns liquor store. The menu here is always rotating to offer seasonal offerings. I have eaten here several times and have not been let down...once. From the fall off the bone ribs, delicious salads, amazing appetizers and fantastic desserts, each seasonal menu offers something new to try. The staff here are incredibly friendly and interact with the guests. The chef cooks to order, but that being said food comes out fast and warm. If you are travelling in southern Saskatchewan and you happen to drive past the little turn in the road to Mortlach, Turn off and enjoy some delicious food.More
Wow! Thanks for the fab review!
Went for a nice quiet dinner for 2. They have a smaller menu that changes seasonally and offer great options to please most. Enjoyed an appetizer, entree and dessert with a bottle of wine. This is a great spot to enjoy a proper dining experience....No rush, just sit back and enjoy the amazing flavours coming out of their kitchen. We will return and have and will always recommend to anyone.More
Thank you so much!!
We made a reservation for 5 couples for supper tonight and were impressed with the meals, the service and the atmosphere! And for anyone requiring a Gluten Free meal, there are a variety of interesting options! Highly recommended!
Thanks so much! Glad we could accommodate!
We were in Moose Jaw visiting our daughter and she has wanted to try this spot since her arrival over a year ago so we drove the 30mins to check it out and weren't disappointed, in fact glad we made the trek! The place was...super quiet except for the odd customer coming in to purchase their beer, yes it doubles as the local liquor/beer store, would make sense in a town of 250 people! Our meals arrived and all I can say is "divine", the food was piping hot, a big plus for me with portions that were generous and made for good sampling of each others. Steak and eggs, Pickerel, special of the day pork tenderloin and last but not least ribs, notta one disappointed in any way. The sides that accompanied the mains were all delicious, great flavour combos and the smells wafting from the open kitchen made the short wait for our meals tough. The waitress was super friendly and answered all our questions so between ambience, service, portions, taste and price point this is defintely a gem worth checking out and in fact returning to for no doubt another awesome meal and evening!More
Thanks Janice!!
I heard about this restaurant while in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Checked it out on Tripadvisor and saw glowing reviews. Well lets just say that I was not disappointed. We walked into the restaurant and weRe struck by the enticing smells coming from the kitchen...made your...taste buds come alive. Had 3 friends with me and we all ordered different meals....pickerel, lobster mac and cheese, jambalaya and the shrimp special. All four of us were delighted and surprised by these dishes. To top it off we had the pecan pie for dessert. Awesome. Thank you for the delicious meals. A definite stop if you are in the Moose Jaw area as it is about 30k away.More
Thanks Jackie! Glad you we finally made it work for your visit!
We were staying in Moose Jaw but decided to make the drive to try this place. Food was fantastic and unique. It was very much worth the drive.
Thanks Chris!
We dined at the Little Red Market Cafe in Mortlach as it is one of our daughters favourite restaurants. She is with the RCAF in Moose Jaw and loves the food and the ever changing menu. We had the most wonderful evening with delightful food...accompanied by a great selection of drinks. The owners are amazing and the service so friendly.More
Thank you very much! We love to see the Air Force staff, their parents, and friends from all over the world enjoy our little village!
We were on our way back from BC when we stopped in Mortlach, as the kids needed a restroom break. We came a cross the Little Red Market Cafe and decided to have lunch too. It was well worth the stop and money. I recommend...it to anyone heading that way. The atmosphere is great and so was the staff. The food was to die for. I can not say enough about the food. My steak and prones were cooked perfectly.More
Thanks Melanie! Hope the rest of the trip was smooth!
The Little Red Market Cafe should not be missed on your travels in southern Saskatchewan! The owner/chef is very talented and is sharing his love of cooking in a quaint and unique setting. We've been to the LRMC for supper twice and have been impressed...both times! They have a focus on local produce and products, which really enhance the experience. The wine list is spot on, too! Highly recommend!More
This little restaurant is a must do. Husband (chef) and wife (server) team that is run like a well oiled machine. I love an open kitchen where I can watch what goes on behind the scenes and the Chef didn’t disappoint. The eclectic decor is...well thought out and placed. There are red blankets for cooler nights and a patio if you want to sit outside. The food was absolutely amazing, more than enough to satisfy and so much better than any wing night out there. Reservations recommended for dinner.More
We certainly lucked out on our cross CANADA drive. Great little restaurant with food way better than I would ever expect in a tiny, off the beaten track little town. We were a group of three, and all had separate entrees that were amazing.
Thank you! Hope to see you on the way back!
