My family and I visit Asheville and the Smoky Mountains about once a year. We went the last week of September 2017. We ate at the Moose three times during our stay. One breakfast and two late lunches. Everything was excellent including the wait Staff...More

First: Go here only if you are very hungry, because you will walk away totally full, no matter what you order. Homemade biscuits with apple butter & cornbread (better than mama makes!). My husband loves their trout. Fresh, lightly breaded and wonderful. He likes their...More

Nothing fancy, but good food and service for a reasonable price. We stopped here for lunch before going to the arboretum.

Amazing classic US Southern diner with a warm cabinesque interior, with breakfast dishes native to the South and plentiful serving sizes to match. That being said, value for money is quite excellent and definitely worth your time and money.

Great down home cooking. This type of food is getting harder to find these days. Plenty of good old country sides. I had a side sampler, which included the chick and dumplings pictured. The collards were really good. I especially liked the corn bread. Not...More

The food here was worth our wait of 30 minutes. The food was homemade and came from farm to table. This place was family friendly and for the amount of food you got was well worth the money. We have plans to return next month.

Speedy enough considering Sunday lunch crowd. Tea refilled more than promptly. Great value, but portions are excessive. If you done take half home, you ate too much. Collards taste great, but surprised more big stems weren't cut away prior to cooking.

First, keep in mind that this is a place that serves southern comfort food exclusively. Our recent visit was enjoyable enough, and the food was nicely prepared. Having said it was good, it was also pretty standard for that type of food. You will not...More

Outside and In, the restaurant has great eye appeal. The food? The entrees were good both at breakfast and at dinner time. Besides the great apple butter and biscuits, the balance of the meal was just so-so. The green beans were over-cooked and the other...More

This is a very busy restaurant. The food is good and there is plenty of it. The children's pancake covers a whole dinner plate. Plan to take food home. The prices were reasonable. The food is good southern cooking.
