Whenever I have friends come in to town to visit, I take them to moose cafe. They have really good biscuits and apple butter plus they have traditional southern meals that anyone would come back for. It reminds me of Cracker Barrel a tiny bit but a more open atmosphere! The staff is really nice also.

I have never had such great home cooked food in a restaurant. The biscuits were the size of a saucer. We had breakfast that was awesome with biscuits, eggs and bacon with piping hot coffee. Lunch was yummy and freshly prepared. The sweet iced tea was perfect and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. If you are ever in... More

I hate to write a bad review for such a popular restaurant, but we were not impressed with the Moose Cafe. We went there on a Sunday for lunch. The place was crowded, and there was a steady stream of people coming in. However, we were sorely disappointed in the food. The pinto beans, cornbread, and collards were all like... More

Tired of the same old chain food? We found this place in Ashville and decided to try it. Wow, home cooked food that tastes great! And bring your appetite! The service was quick and the staff friendly. In addition, the cost is reasonable. Don't miss this place

This is a must have for breakfast! Every time we visit, we get the same awesome customer service, scrumptious food, clean restaurant, and beautiful views from the large windows in the back. A tasty snack arrives before your meal -their made from scratch biscuits & their scratch-made apple butter! I recommend that you get there early, get a booth next... More

This is a typical country restaurant, crowded tables and mostly sloppy service. I ordered a hamburger steak, collards and mashed potatoes. It came with cornbread and biscuits. The biscuits had good flavor, the hamburger was ok but the collards were awful. I was raised on collards but have never tasted any like this before. They had a sweetness which took... More

This was one of the first places we stumbled upon when we began visiting Asheville and now that we live here we go frequently, mostly for breakfast. Dinner is good, too, but the breakfasts are unbeatable. Nothing fancy, just great home-cooked fare. The prices are more than reasonable and we always have a second meal to take home! We've never... Great down home American cooking. Very large portions. Try the Buttermilk fried chicken or one of the fish dishes.

This is the best breakfast in Asheville for the money! You are greeted with a plate of hot biscuits and apple butter when your order for beverages is taken. If you eat all of their breakfast here you are going to be full. The bacon is great and the country ham comes in a big slab that makes your mouth... More

I had read about the Moose Cafe and decided to try it for dinner. I ordered the country ham and biscuits. They had no red-eye gravy???? What southern restaurant served country ham without red-eye gravy? The waitress delivered the biscuit half way through my meal. The food was very tasty, however the service was terrible. She basically slapped my food... More
