We had a fabulous dinner here on Halloween night. The staff were very friendly and helpful in choosing from the extensive menu. Highly recommend!

I am really surprised by all of the negative reviews I found here. I've just been here once, so maybe I got lucky, but we came with friends who've been often and spoke highly of it. First off, it's absolutely beautiful inside! The ambience is very warm and inviting, almost meditative. The food and drinks, we found delicious. I suppose... More

The restaurant is not the best indian / pakistani restaurant I have been to, but it is decent. I can see for somewhere like Asheville were they don't have much competitions, this is pretty good.

We like Indian and Pakistani food, and we like spicy food. However, Kathmandu's papadum was so salty (we had never had it that way), that we each ate 2-3 bites. The dal seemed salty too, because a few spoonsful burned our tongues, and we left most of it. The samosas were underseasoned. The Nepalese eggplant dish was OK but heavy... More

Don't walk by this place! We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and wait staff. Our waiter was just so amazing. He was patient to answer all our questions. And the F-O-O-D is to die for. I would literally choose Kathmandu for my last meal ☺

We ordered Kathmandu through Valet Gourmet. We were excited to try a new Indian type restaurant. We ordered pakoras which were pretty good and also some kind of patty which was tasteless. The Goat Curry was all gristle and bones and the dumplings were hard as a rock. This was not just the worst Indian food we've had, but the... More

As we drifted around downtown Asheville we happened upon Kathmandu cafe. We had no idea the amazing meal ahead of us. We tried several dishes, naan and their chai tea. Everything was so delicious and spices that were out of this world. I'm still telling friends about this place when they plan trips to Asheville. I look forward to returning... More

Love some diversity in my diet. This lace nailed it. Essentially similar to Indian cuisine. The inside is very cool, great atmosphere. Would recommend. Not return due to I eat a lot of Indian at Home and not due to quality.

I have eaten here bunch of times, both lunch buffet and dinner. I think the lunch buffet is more closer to an Indian buffet than Himalayan cuisine. The food is still good though. You should probably order from the menu to taste more Nepali flavors on the dish. The inside and decor is awesome and the servers were professional.

Before deciding to do dinner, I stopped in to see what their luncheon buffet looks like. It looks like a lot of fun for lunch with an opportunity to try a little bit of several different dishes that they also offer at dinner, but not buffet style. Dinner does not have the buffet. If I were doing this over again,... More
