My boyfriend and I were visiting Asheville for a few days and were looking for a quick place to get takeout on the first night of our trip and found this place online. We ended up coming back for lunch on the following two days of our trip because the food was so great! The falafel salad and wrap are... More

I had the sampler since it was my first time here and, wow, everything was so good! You can tell everything is made with good quality ingredients and freshly made. Falafels are generous in size and well seasoned with a nice tahini sauce for dipping. Baba ghanoush is wonderfully chunky with just the right amount of smokiness. The fattoush was... More

We were really excited about coming up to visit this place. The thought of good shawarma or falafel had us excited. The pros: The service was excellent. The young lady helping us was very pleasant. The restaurant was extraordinarily clean. The had quite a few knick knacks that in some places could collect dust. These were clean. The fried cauliflower... More

I've lived in San Francisco, New York City, Vancouver, Canada and travelled to various countries around the world. I don't tend to expect much from smaller towns, though often there are gems to be found (even in Northfield, Minnesota). Gypsy Queen Cuisine could hold it's own in any of the places mentioned above. On my first visit I just had... More

What can I say but delicious! Starters were the Hummus with pita wedges and fried Brussels sprouts. Really really good! The Lebanese fries were amazing as was the chicken shawarma and the yum-yum wrap. Also ordered the Swiss chard lentil and lemon soup and it was also delicious. Can't say enough good things about this place.

One of my favorite places in the city for dinner. The staff is always spot on, and the food---it will make you want to put rings on your fingers and bells on your toes. So good!!!

My husband and I both ordered schwarma. My chicken schwarma was quite bland - chunks of breast meat with lettuce and almost no seasoning. This was the most flavorless schwarma I've ever had. Also, it wasn't really schwarma - the meat should be cooking on a turning spit. This was just cooked in a pan. The lamb schwarma was much... More

Thank you for your review. I really wish you would have told us that you where unhappy with your meal right then and there, the old fashion way. Shawarma is a method of cooking, on a vertical rotisserie, which we have. As the rotisserie spins it roasts the meat, which is then shaved off the spit and placed in a... More

I went with a friend as I had heard about this food from others. I was blown away by the felafel. I had been in Israel early in 2016, and this felafel was better than any I had there. The prices are reasonable, and I've heard felafels are discounted on Monday.

OMG the Yum Yum wrap is out of this world. The other foods are great too, but the Yum Yum wrap was something else. It was a party of flavors in our mouths.

The Gypsy Queen was the highlight of my meals in Asheville. We had brunch there before heading out of town. The staff knew we were eager to get on the road due to bad weather and were accommodating, quickly taking our order and getting our food to us in a timely manner. I ordered the Fried Halloumi Sandwich, which included... More
