Found this place on accident as our first option was too crowded and was so happy it worked out this way. Everyone enjoyed the great New Orleans style food, atmosphere and reasonable prices. Would def go back

The atmosphere, food, service and especially the Bloody Mary bar are well worth the wait. The hostess was very personable and efficient ~ our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and kind ~ I shared a sandwich with my daughter ~ the muffalatta (sp?) ~ they brought an extra plate and did not make us feel bad ~ my... We went for dinner at 7:30 and had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated as inside is pretty small. I would suggest going earlier in the evening. However, the location is great and the food was very good. I had jambalaya which was spicier than I was ready for, despite the fair warning from the waitress. Save your... More

This place was cozy and stood out among several fine dining establishments. They are very adamant about their RC Cola, which is good. The burgers are on point, as was the lobster omelette(which I couldn't picture at first, kinda felt like a taboo relationship among the good groups). The cat fish was also good. Try their Banana Pudding and you... More

if you like cajun food - Mayfel's your choice. A great mix of creole and cajun foods is Mayfel's specialty. If you like spice and Louisiana type foods.

We ate at mayfel's for lunch. It was so good as always. They have the best pickles ever. I had the muffuletta sandwich and my husband had the gator po boy. Both were amazing. Unfortunately they don't have sweet potato fries any more cause they were amazing also. No beer on tap but plenty of local bottles. The menu is... More

I had the trout served over parmesan grit cakes with mashed potatoes! Excellent, bursting with flavors from all directions. The cakes were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The Sierra Nevada beer also complimented the blackened trout perfectly. The gumbo was definitely full of spice, but it was packed with flavor that made the heat well worth... More

We went for my daughters birthday to Asheville and gave Mayfels a try. We were seated w no wait and service was great. Waitress very cordial and provided a great service. Ok on to the food. I had the shrimp and grits after asking the waitress for opinion on most popular entree. It was very tasty and well presented. My... More

This highly recommended restaurant maybe had a bad night. The seafood gumgo was so heavily spiced with cayenne that all other ingredients in my dish were lost. I like very spicy food but one ingredient overwhelmed the flavor this dish should have had. The red beans and rice were opposite. Bland beans and rice with only the spicy andoule sausage... More
