My wife and I enjoyed a great evening here, while sitting at the bar. We ordered Shrimp Ceviche & Grilled Octopus for an appetizer, followed by the grouper and halibut main courses. All of the dishes were wonderfully prepared. And David, the bartender did an...More

One would think that a restaurant with this name would have decent size lobsters. 1 1/4 pound lobsters aren't worth much unless you get a few. This was the biggest size they had so I was disappointed. The fried oysters and grilled romaine appetizer was...More

I am so sorry that you were disappointed. We serve "chick" lobsters to keep the price down for our customers and because the meat is sweeter and more tender than a larger lobster. However, we would be happy to special order large lobsters with advance...More

The food and service was excellent. Would recommend reservations as it is very popular and there was a wait. A bit loud since it was so crowded and the bar was full. Would still recommend as a place for great seafood.

Description
Since its opening in 2005, The Lobster Trap has been Asheville's premier seafood restaurant, and with good reason. The menu only features fresh seafood caught by trusted domestic purveyors and prepared in ways that showcase the delicate flavors and textures of fish, lobster, crabs, shrimp, oysters and clams. Located in a beautifully renovated historic building in the heart of downtown Asheville, The Lobster Trap features live entertainment from local musicians every night. To that, add locally brewed Oyster House beers, craft cocktails, seafood-friendly wines and southern hospitality and you have The Lobster Trap's formula for success.
