My husband reserved a table for our valentine Dinner night and we ran through the menu ahead to ensure there are vegetarian options. On reaching there, we found the place packed and luckily with our reservation, we were able to get the table immediately. I was surprised to see many vegetarian pasta options( besides the regular fettuccine alfredo or cheese... More

When my fiance and I decided to make a trip to Boston, I immediately had a craving for Italian food in the North End. What I didn't know at that time was about Monica's. The staff was friendly and the food....delicious. Can't wait to go back!

I had the lobster ravioli and it was pretty good. As expected, a good wine selection. Good bread. With reservations, there was no waiting on a Saturday night even though it was crowded. For a party of 2 the total was just over $100 including tip.

The service was wonderful. We had a very attentive waitress and she was very polite. The food was delicious and generous for the price. We would definitely return again. The only thing I wish had been different was the music choice. It's an upscale Italian restaurant but they were playing American rock and roll.

Went there for a goodbye meal with several friends. Service was amazing. Restaurant was amazing. The food the like. Will be back for more - I highly recommend trying this. PS - out of this and Trattoria Monica - choose Vinoteca!

We had our wedding dinner here last night and everyone was thrilled with the food! Our small group 13 of guests joined us after our ceremony and they not only arranged to have a cake made for us (with just a couple of days notice) they were also quite accommodating with my constant change in # of guest - right... We have eaten at many places in the North End and for the most part there are some that stand out better than others. I would start by saying that the portions are small for the price you pay, especially the Chicken Marsala which the chicken is actually one of the smallest thighs I have ever seen. I would not... I used to live across the street from the Old North church and was fortunate enough to have sampled a lot of the restaurants in the North End. Monica's is always a good choice although I understand some people have had different experiences. The food was good - we ordered fried calamari and grilled mushrooms for appetizers. Both were well... More

It is also supposed to be a wine bar. But the wines by the glass are generic, no indication of the producer, no advice. One was decent, the other one not worth the price. There are better options in the area.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
