I think this place is a bank before, it's like a fortress inside.. Love the ambiance of the place.. The lobster is as fresh as you can get as if you get it from the nearby sea.. Service is impeccable that's why we went here twice during our week stay in Boston.

I attended a business function at Oceanaire recently. Our group of about 30 people was in a private room. During the cocktail hour it was impossible to get a beverage. I am not sure whether the waitstaff or the bar was at fault. When we were seated the waitstaff served beverages and took orders from the limited menu in a... More

Went here with my wife and parents for Mother's day 2017 and had an outstanding experience. It may be expensive, but you definitely get what you paid for! Love the unique decor and ambiancd inside an old restored bank. We felt bad for the wait staff having to go up and down the stairs all day however. Anyway, the service... More

May be a tad expensive but really lovely seafood and friendly helpful staff. We had oysters and yellow fin tuna which was to totally die for. Great grub.

We hosted a private event in the Oceanaire Seafood Room and I can't say enough great things about Bailey Rosenberg and the staff that helped with our event. Bailey anticipated our every need and was incredibly flexible, offering solutions to problems before we even realized they would be an issue. We are a nonprofit organization from another state. When Bailey... More

Wanted to find a nice seafood restaurant. Nice old bank room and not too fancy. Friendly staff. Lot of choices from the menu, also meat. We took seafood and no complaints. Crab cake, mussels, tuna etc worked well. Definitely worth visiting.

The highlight was the fantastic interior, former bank office I suppose. Food and service as expected although pricey.

The food alone would make this restaurant worth a visit but the great setting makes it even better. Just a few minutes walk to the Orpheum if you are going to a show. You can get great seafood in many places in Boston but this place gives dishes a special twist. We shared an appetizer of shrimp with grits, my... More

Everything at Oceanside was top notch. The decorate was interesting, a bit different from the usual Boston restaurants. The service was impeccable. While the waiter was always close by, he was never invasive. I couldn't ask for better care. The food was excellent also. I had the escargot, which doesn't often show up on menus, and it was wonderful. I... More

For the 9th year in a row we enjoyed the Oceanaire for our pre-race meal. It is quiet and the service is excellent. I like fish especially salmon or Tuna for my pre-race meal. The house salad is perfect and I love the choices of vegetables. Important to me for pre-race is the options for preparing the fish. There is... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
