Previous meals at Post 390 have been great, but last night's meal was a shambles. 45 minute wait for second (main) course was the signal. Steak overcooked with cold onion rings for garnish. Salmon came with a folded piece of paper below the green beans. We unfolded it to discover the WiFi ID and password for the restaurant. Ridiculous waste... More

I live fairly close to Post 390 and this is always a reliable place to have very good food, drinks and company. The staff is amazing and on the rare occasions I go out to eat alone at the bar, I know I will always feel at home. The local food sources are wonderful and the oyster and charcuterie selections... Unfortunately, despite some very good food, and very good service from the wait staff, the general manager, Corey Lombardy , spoiled all the good efforts of his team with respect to the eight person banquet that I hosted and spent $1200 for plus tax and service . Despite the best efforts of Susan Earabino, director of sales and marketing, to... More

At dinner ther after meetings all day. Had a burge and fries which was very good although I would argue that a burger should never have cucumber on it. Friend had salmon which he stated was stellar. Pretty pricey but quite good.

Space is very comfortable with upstairs slightly more formal with more formal menu. We arrived quite early for dinner so we were able to sit upstairs but order off the downstairs menu - very accommodating. Good choices for 12 yo twins and 2 adults. Very good food and interesting choices. Went two nights in a row so we clearly enjoyed... More

Post390 is located near the Lyric Stage. They offer three menus; farm to table, tavern and dining room. Two of us ordered a duck dish that was on the farm to table menu. Two others had burgers from the Tavern menu, and one had a pasta dish. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Nice wine list, and desserts were also a hit.

My husband & I joined a group of friends for dinner with one of their parents. We had plenty of space for 8 people & great service. Everyone loved Thur food & beer! We had the Kentucky Bourbon Ale on draft. I had the short rib ravioli & a side of cauliflower. It was all delicious. I finished every bite!... More

Like so many restaurants it is too loud. One can only hope owners will cover the tables with a silencing cloth and a table cloth. But this frenzied restaurant on a Friday night was busy. The drinks were delivered in a timely fashion and the waiter was efficient without being overbearing. The yeast muffins were extremely good and no butter... More

Post 390 was perfect for a family celebration. It is upscale enough to be special yet comfortable enough to include the children. The menu has a nice selection; the wine and beer offerings are good. Service, quality and presentation are all great.

Description
Post 390 puts a contemporary twist on the traditional tavern experience, with seasonally inspired dishes that reflect Chef Eric Brennan’s passion for fresh ingredients and unforgettable flavors.
On the first floor is the Tavern—a casual but sophisticated menu and atmosphere, with a 25-seat bar and high top and banquette seating area, warmed by a beautiful four-sided fireplace. A massive wrought iron staircase connects the energy of the first floor with the Dining Room on the second floor.
Here, guests can have a more refined dining experience, and enjoy our large, open kitchen, wine displays, two private dining rooms, additional fireside dining and views of landmarks like Copley Place, Trinity Church and the Hancock Tower. Throughout the entire restaurant, black glazed brick columns and wood slatted walls add an urban edge to the comforting atmosphere.
Located in the Clarendon Building, the site of the former Back Bay Post Office Annex, Post 390 is perfectly situated within

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
