To say this was 10/10 would be to do this restaurant an injustice. Went in a group of 40 plus people. The sushi was wonderfully fresh and the service was impeccable.

We came in for a dinner before theatre show. Location is really convenient being close to parking and to the performance. However, the waitress was arguing with us that that the tea is hot enough, when it was not, from the customers' perspective, and they do not even steep green tea, which would be expected from an Asian restaurant. The... More

We went to the Red Lantern about a month ago and this was my first time. WOW what a vibe inside. Asian décor, very tastefully decorated, high ceilings! It is definitely deceiving from the outside. When you pull up to the restaurant, your impression is that it will be small and cozy inside, however quite the contrary, it' is a... More

Overall was impressed with our visit to Red Lantern. Good date night spot, atmosphere was cranking, food was good. There were a lot of 'girls night out' groups the night we went which added to the 'liveliness' of the energy - overall would recommend this place to anyone in the back bay / south end area.

We had some time before catching our train back home so stopped in the Red Lantern for drinks. A very happening place with a DJ. It was packed in the bar area, luckily the hostess let us sit right in front of the open air kitchen's countertop area. What an amazing sight!!! It was mesmerizing to watch the chefs prep,... More

The Red Lantern has it all - an inviting and interesting decor, very good food, an attentive wait staff and a great location. The restaurant is in the Back Bay hard by the Mass Pike. It is easy to get there and a parking garage is right across the street if you don't use the valet. Leaving is a quick... More

From the ambiance to the service to the food - this place has it all. An the Sushi is very underrated - the Red Dragon roll was very tasty. Start with the Pupu platter - you will NOT be sorry! Also, for a group of 3-4 I highly recommend sharing the Large Grill Platter - very tasty selection of tender... More

One of the best sushi places in Boston! I don't know why it doesn't have better ratings; specially since they have all you can eat sushi on Tuesdays and the menu includes their two best sushis! My always to go order is: Salmon Nigiri Rock Roll Sushi Crunchy Roll + Warm Sak

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
