Most of us middle-class worker bees will not find a bargain meal here, and for some of us it would qualify as a once a year meal to honor a very special occasion. My first time at S&W was to celebrate my son’s birthday and he and his wife picked out the place. The quiet, upscale, dark wood-paneled, tavern-like feel... More

The food was good, the wait staff was great and it was reasonable priced. It was a rainy day, and the maitre de offered us an umbrella which was so great! Would definitely go back

Steaks are really good. And gratin too. So many incredible steak houses in Boston. This one is not at the top ten. Their branches of Smith and Wollensky in other cities (like Chicago) were better. And the service was so bad even when the place isn't busy. The desserts are really disappointing. The tuna steak maim course was cold.

Before you visit, you have to know this place is expensive. It doesn't have great view but okay view if you sit on the patio. Food was good but thinking of price, it wasn't exceptionally great.

We had a perfect night out for dinner on Friday. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted in a most friendly manner by the hostess, who had our reservation ready and waiting. She knew we were there to celebrate our birthdays from earlier in the year and wished us a happy celebration. The table was really great for... More

There are 2 Smith and Wollensky restaurants in Boston - this is on the harbour-side next door to the Intercontinental Hotel. We ate on a busy Friday evening and because it was a bit chilly we sat indoors although the terrace (with heaters) was still open. Service was friendly and efficient but in no way rushed. We had just a... More

Had dinner on the deck here in the evening , and the view was fabulous. You have a view of the new section of Boston with the lit up Construction sites, Hotels . the Tea Party Dock and the wonderful channel it sits on. We started with 2 wedge salads .The Ribeye was the best my wife ever had ,... More

We were recommended this restaurant by two different friends in Australia. They were all saying you have to go as they experienced their best steak ever. They were CORRECT! What was an I expected bonus was the amazing photographs near the rest rooms, the chocolate cake and attentive, friendly service from Laura. What a delight she was. She asked us... More

Smith and Wollensky is always predicatble - high end food and excellent service. Very pricy, but it is also very, very good.

I took my family out to dinner and the food was good, the service was great. Nice decor and the drinks were excellent. I would return but it is not the best steak house in Boston.

Thank David B

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
