A short distance of the main street of The North End, This is the place to go after your dinner to purchase Italian meats or other authentic ingredients you may want if you are seriously into cooking Italian. Salumeria Italiana has been a tradition and has served the native Italian North End Community for most of the 20th century

Take a few steps off Hanover and you will find yourself in an authentic piece of Italy. The sights and smells of the old country grab you as soon as you walk in Salumeria's door. The hand-sliced meats and cheeses are the best in Boston and they make some of the best sandwiches in the North End - combining them... More

Every year I visit Salumeria to buy all the best ingredients for antipasti for Christmas Eve and Christmas. You can not top this place for quality and value. Also, as your server is waiting on you, you get to enjoy all of the eye candy (lol)!

I shop regularly at Salumeria, The quality of the oils and vinegars is exceptional. Making a charcuterie or cheese board is so easy and fun with their selection. I particularly like the varieties of gluten-free pastas and treats-best in the city! Fantastic service competes the experience and gets you to come back time after time.

Chocolate, uncooked specialty pastas, and fillings, meats, cheese, olive oil and vinegar selections were my favorite. My husband got cut to order prosciutto and cheese, which he had for breakfast the next morning. I was happy to find fig vinegar, which I had at some point on this trip on a salad, but never expected to have now in my... More

Salumeria Italiana is a great neighborhood shop, tucked away on a side street in the North End, Boston's Italian Quarter. They carry everything - cheeses, crackers, Italian coffee, olive oils and a really great selection of gourmet vinegars if you are looking for something special. You can order sliced meats like prosciutto or one of their incredible selection of every... More

My sister and her husband live near by and it is a frequent stop for them... We love stopping in for Italian favorites, recommendations for cheese... and just a great overall place to pick up yummy, and divine treats for when you are having company or just want quality food. The service is awesome, friendly and very helpful...

Great selection of Artisanal cheeses and cured meats from all over Italy and other places. Complete market with home made breads and spreads perfect for putting together a nice picnic, lunch, or dinner. A nice bottle of vino and you're set. Good, high quality products with friendly help. Our first visit and we felt like kids in a candy shop.... More

Stop by for a hunk of the best cheese and a pound of the best prosciutto in the world... well, outside of Italy. Friendly folks, great products from the home country. Olives, olive oil, pasta..... I swear, every time I go to Boston I pick up something from Salumeria to carry home.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
