We had a great experience thanks to a very knowledgeable server. She had great command of the extensive wine list and that night's menu (changes daily). Food wasn't overly special. Probably won't go back given the other options in Boston.

The Meritage Restaurant is part of the Boston Harbor Hotel. 5 star dining at it's best. The service was impeccable - nothing was left out. Only one small detail, the entire party must order the prix-fixe dinner with wine pairings. Although, I did not have a chance to try that, the meal was fabulous. If you are looking for a... More

Great buffet with endless pouring of Champagne. Service was very attentive, we never had to ask for anything. One of the best fine dining experiences ever.

Spent over $400.00 a la carte before gratuity And let me be clear, I have no problem with what was charged To serve lobster undercooked is unforgivable...after refiring twice Being presented the same preparation 3 times and all undercooked is not only irresponsible, but reckless and unprofessional ( regardless how stubborn the chef may be)And when informed by management that... NYE prix-fixe dinner with wine pairing for 4 was a delight. The menu made choice difficult, as we could have eaten our way through everything, the accompanying wines were spot on and provided an excursion through some wonderful vineyards. The food presentation was exquisite, the service was impeccable, there when needed and invisible when not. Midnight was low key, with... More

in all fairness the three of us were tired and that was probably the only reason we didnt have as good a time as this place offers. Having said that this is a stiff collar kind of fine dining establishment that focuses a lot on there wine cellar, not that there is anything wrong with either. This is not the... More

We had an excellent meal last year, so this year we decided to treat another couple to a pre-Christmas dinner while staying in town. Once again we arranged for the tasting menu, but this time a couple of the courses weren't up to what we experienced last time. Once again the service was excellent as were the wine pairings, but... Great restaurNt! We snuck in for a very late dinner, and despite the fact we (so sorry to the employees!) kept them open as but late, they still served a superb meal. Would love to return

As usual an excellent experience with Chef Bruce at Meritage. Food and wine extravaganza and a remarkable experience. Everything was perfect, including service, food and wine especially.

Meritage Restaurant + Wine Bar is known for its excellence in wine and food pairings. The connection between wine and food, as well as Chef Daniel Bruce's deeply-rooted ties with vintners from around the world, are integrated throughout the dining experience - from the wine aperitif pairing that guests enjoy with their Amuse Bouche to the olive oil poured tableside from a different featured vineyard each month. Chef Bruce works with vineyards across the globe to source ingredients exclusively for Meritage that are incorporated into the menu, including citrus, spices, herbs, nuts, meats and other specialty items grown on the vineyards. The Meritage menu honors the restaurant's hallmark of matching wine to food and showcases Chef Bruce's extraordinary dedication to the finest ingredients. Native to New England, Chef Bruce has established longstanding relationships with local farmers and purveyors, and bases his menus solely on ingredients at the peak of freshness. Working with unusual and varied ingredients allows each dish on the menu to be unique while simultaneously enhancing the wine's flavor.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
