Enjoyed a nice seafood dinner with my husband. Had such a wide variety of dishes and wine pairings. Kind of loud atmosphere.

On a layover from Tampa this place is so close to the airport, jump on the water taxi and walk over. The chowder great, the calmari spicy, and the beer, a Jacks Abbey Hopnius Union, was outstanding! We like to hit this place before we head over the pond. Great as always guys!

Visiting in Boston for a family funeral and stayed in the Plaza area. We ate a lovely lunch at Legal Seafood on Charles Street. The lobster roll and clam chowder was heavenly, the ambiance great and our wait staff was attentive while not intrusive.

Stopped while in port off the cruise ship. Got this one as a recommendation from some of the locals. The food was excellent, and service was fantastic. Also got to see a little fan fare when John Kerry showed up with some diplomats for lunch.

Took the grand kids to dinner the other night and we ate at Legal Seafood in the mall. There was a bit of a wait, 35 minutes. We were seated at a smaller table, but we made due. The service was very good and the food was fresh and served hot. each meal arrived as it was made ready, so... More

We have been to various Legal Seafood restaurants in the Boston area over the years and have yet to be disappointed. I highly recommend the pan blackened trout and swordfish ... we have never been disappointed with a meal at Legal Seafood.

Food was good but very pricey. Service not as good. Not busy at the time of visit but server took forever to acknowledge us and we had to request refills of water.

We were told both good and bad things about Legal Sea Foods, but decided to try it anyways. My husband and father in law had to try the lobster, per the request of his grandpa, and it really was amazing! I am not a lobster fan, and would not have been able to finish it on my own, but I... More

Went here one evening when on holiday in Boston. Staff were friendly and attentive and had a good knowledge of the menu. The service I found to be a bit too fast but the food itself was well cooked and good quality.

We went for a late light lunch and had the mussels and the blue cheese, pear and walnut salad. The mussels were plump and flavorful. The salad was also delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. I would definitely go back for dinner.

Description
The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods - really fresh fish.

Enjoy ocean-side dining just steps from the New England Aquarium. Our restaurant couldn't be more convenient to the Financial District, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall and waterfront hotels.

We think a visit to Boston must include a meal at Legal Sea Foods.

Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there's no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker.

We've received a boatload of accolades including "Most Popular Boston Restaurant" (Zagat, 2011/2012), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Improper Bostonian, 2010), "Best Chowder" (Boston Magazine, 2010), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
