We went to Lucca for dinner on a beautiful early spring evening. We had 8:30 reservations, got there about 5 minutes early, waited at a high top near the bar and as our drinks arrived our table was ready. The restaurant was very crowded and the noise level was best described as a din! However, tables were nicely spaced and... More

I have been many times and Lucca is officially a must do whenever I'm in the Boston area. Went with work colleagues this time on a Wednesday night. I was relatively crowded for that day of the week. We split some starters, prosciutto w buratta, mussels, and short rib sweet potato gnocchi. All were great the gnocchi was fantastic. I... More

We are flying out of the Boston airport to Nova Scotia and was recommended by a friend this restaurant ...our server who we cannot remember the name but after asking how he knew so much details on each wine he stated that he does the wine orders and educated us on their extended wine selection was PHENOMENAL! He was so... More

The food was wonderful but our waiter was very slow and not focused on our needs. We paid the bill and went up to the bar.... I got my drink right away because it was a beer, but my husband had to wait because our bartender was talking to a Patron while making his drink. The problem was, this was... More

Impeccable service. Orecchiette is perfect comfort food. Ravioli is spectacular with butternut squash and hazelnuts.

Went for a family birthday, 7 persons. Everything -- cocktails, dinner and service -- was perfect. A special shout out for Gareth; he was the best waiter I've had in years.

I went with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. We went on a Monday, so the restaurant was not very busy. The waiter was very attentive and he made a great recommendation for a bottle of wine. Food was very good. We had a great time.

Went here for a celebration with my family. The atmosphere is amazing, especially in the spring/summer, the front windows come off and you really experience the busy streets of the north end. The staff is attentive and personable. I can't say enough about how great the food is. Every appetizer and entree we got was delicious. The staff doesn't rush... More

Went last night with my wife and grown nephew. We had a reservation but were 45 minutes late. They seated us right away and at first we were taken a back by the fact that it wasn't that crowded at 7:15 Pm on a Friday night. Bread was decadent but a little too oily (focacia), the pesto Hummus dip was... More

We stopped in for a pre-dinner drink. Very cozy on a cold Friday night! Bartenders were attentive and knowledgable. Nice assortment of people there. I'd go back in a minute for the service and the atmosphere.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
