This place is a Boston landmark. They have been around since 1927 slinging turkey hash & breakfast & lunch diner classics. Visited here twice for breakfast whilst on holiday in Boston last December. It’s a great place with lots to choose from. I have the banana bread french toast on my 1st visit (portion was huge was so delicious) and had corned beef hash browns and...eggs on my 2nd visit. The place is old in a really good way. Comfortable and familiar, even on our first stop. Breakfast was really good. Nothing fancy but tasty. Great service. Friendly.

We were staying in an Airbnb nearby and went here for breakfast. Great atmosphere, great service and great food. Lovely people. I bought one of their mugs as a memento as it was my husband’s 60th birthday that day. When we were at the airport...at the end of our holiday about to board the plane, I dropped the bag with the mug in and it sadly smashed. I emailed Sheree at Charlie’s and she very kindly posted a replacement mug to us in the UK. What a star! This was a good, clean diner with a variety of choices for breakfast and lunch. Waitresses were friendly and efficient. I ordered a portabella, avocado panini while my daughter had a breakfast special with a nutter butter shake, everything was great. It's a little small...inside but was an off time so it worked out fine. We got a table as soon as we walked in.More

We were attracted to the facade of this restaurant as it looked well-established. Cute corner looking place, very ephemeral. Walked in, only about seven tables available in the entire restaurant and about 12 counter seats. One cook working the grill. We went for breakfast and...ordered corned beef hash Benedict, an assortment of omelets and other things. Seemed very promising as the place opened in 1927 and by the way was spotless in terms of cleanliness. Food took a while to arrive, when it did, orders were incorrect, no biggie as we could roll with the punches. Food temperatures were mediocre as was the food itself. Friendly service, but incorrect order taking. Had high hopes but after all, it was just breakfast and no harm no foul. Maybe we were there on an off-day. Overall just okay.More

This was what I was looking for! After looking for a typical American breakfast place I found this. Food was great.

Great place for breakfast. Lovely home-cooked food. Very popular, especially on a weekend morning. The beef hash was great. Bottomless coffee and a non-touristy feel.

We enjoyed breakfast here, reasonably priced and cooked to order with free refills of coffee. There’s lots of interesting memorabilia on the walls too, of all the famous people who have eaten here.
