The atmosphere was good and food was as well. The service not so much. Our server would disappear for what felt like 30 minutes at a time. It wasn't even busy. We had to ask for refills on our beverages and whatever else we needed. We even had to track her down for our bill!

Never been to Boston, staying in a B&B close to Clerys. We did get there before the crowds but our server and food were awesome. Would recommend to anyone that loves chowder!

LOUD! If I cannot hear the person standing next to me without his yelling then there is a problem with the people or the environs. Three feet into the doorway and I heard the people in the back of this place as well as those in the front. Maybe the culture is affected by the perception that louder is "better"... More

So glad we gave Clery's a shot on a Saturday night. It's a great in-between bar. By that, I mean it's not super fancy or a sticky dive bar. They have the ground floor which is comparable to Clark's in Faneuil Hall (another favorite) and if you feel like dancing, they have the option of heading downstairs. Definitely need to... More

Good food but grumpy and inattentive service. Not busy at all so really no excuses. Had to track down waitress for silverware, water several times and for our bill. Most of the staff was just standing around.

We came here for a small gathering and the waitress was very rude the whole time. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich that was not grilled at all... worst 20 bucks spent!

So we've been having some just ok dinner experiences in Boston while visiting. This was the best food so far. We went at happy hour and it was pretty loud and crowded but I guess that is to be expected. The group I was with had a brisket grilled cheese, steak bomb, pretzels and grilled asparagus. I got what I... More

We had lunch at Clerys in between Christmas and New Years. The food was OK, not great. The service was fine, there were not many people in the restaurant at the time. The Tuna Nachos were very weird, I would stay away. The Reuben and the hamburger were fine.

Stopped by for a cup of soup and the New England was outstanding. Large place with a number of people eating at the bar like ourselves and everyone seemed happy. Looks like a place for locals.

Not bad. Just a bar. Nothing special, nothing terrible. Okay prices, okay fries, okay service. What more can be said?

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
