Had the loveliest meal, swordfish was the catch of the day with vegetables and it was Devine! The waiter was amazing and really attentive. Honestly rounded of our Boston trip perfectly.

In what seems like an endless stream of Italian restaurants in the North End, Florentine Cafe stands out as a cozy place with excellent food. The menu is not too large, but has enough creative dishes to keep everyone happy. You have to get the Burrata which is out of this world. In the summer months they open the windows... More

Service was a little spotty but the food was spot on. Kids and adults enjoyed the pizzas. I really enjoyed my chicken fra diavolo. The perfect amount of spice. Everyone thought the bread was a little stale.

I are dinner here with a business associate on a very cold night. The service was excellent, the food was very tasty ( as you'd expect given the abundance of Italian restaurants on the street) with large portions and fresh (seafood pasta dish with lobster and shrimp - tasted fresh). The wine list was perfect. Only slight negative was lack... More

This place is Average. But if your traveling in a large group of people of all ages this is the place to go. They always have tables available even on weekends and prices are not killer.

We chose this place completely at random while walking along Hanover Street. We were seated promptly. All 5 of us selected a different entree and the food was fine. My calzone was huge! The service was friendly and reasonably paced.

The food was okay. The service was great as they were able to accommodate our large business group on a busy Thursday evening without a reservation. They are close to some yummy, very, well-known pastry shops.

We stopped in here to grab a drink and take a break from walking. The ambience was lovely and the local color was amusing. The drinks were very good — I had a delicious Riesling — and the bartender was very nice. We did not eat, but the food that some of the other patrons order looked and smelled delicious.... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
