I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants in general; but Au Bon Pain provided a fresh, quick breakfast. I liked that there were some healthy options available (fruit cups, yogurt, yogurt parfaits, etc). I have to say that the pastries and bagels looked really good though too. ;)

We had breakfast here two mornings. It does get quite busy but it's quick and staff friendly. Really good value and good selection.

Our first morning on US soil and we were looking for somewhere for breakfast. This was very near being in the hotel block where we were staying and so we ventured in. Many of our party were already there and we were treated to, what seemed to us, the real US business breakfast experience - and the food was good... More

An inexpensive spot to grab a bite to eat or a coffee in an otherwise expensive part of town. We stayed nearby and paid $50+ for breakfast at our hotel. The next day we walked to Au Bon Pain and got breakfast sandwiches, muffins, coffees for under $15!

Food reasonably priced compared to other breakfast places in Boston. Not huge variety of choice but bagels were excellent.

we were staying at the Park Plaza hotel but did not really fancy paying $25 each for a few items. instead we had a great choice of fruit, pastries and breakfast rolls and coffee at Au Bon Pain. The staff and shop Manager were very helpful I have no hesitation in recommending this place.

We wished to have a quick breakfast so we went here (next to our hotel). We should have walked a little further and found something better. The food was not inspired however I did expect a little more. If I had been buying junk food it would have been fine. However, I should have taken the time to go to... More

Usually stop there for breakfast or lunch. One of the best croissant. Good chowder! They have a good size salad bar as well!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
