We truly tested The Capital Grille over dinner with our group of 11 and they came through with flying colors. The service was excellent, individual bills were presented without error and, most importantly, the food was excellent. I started dinner with the clam chowder and it was one of the best I've ever had - wonderfully creamy with generous bits... More

Great service and wine list. We had a great meal and delicious steak but the au gratin potatoes were a little under cooked.

Pros..Atmosphere is fine and quiet enough for discourse even though restaurant was crowded. A couple of the appetizers were fine..about what one would expect at a decent B grade bar/restaurant. Scalloped potato side very good for comfort type food. Service was very good except for the up selling. Cons..The food just wasn't good enough for the price. My filet mignon... More

Classy location though it may get too noisy during peak times. Menu and wine list is outstanding. Needless to say the Steak is King and it is top notch. Service was at the level that you can expect from a place in this league. Pricey of course but it was worth it!

It's the Capital Grille.... it was exactly what we expected. We arrived a little early and had to fight to get a drink at the bar, it was a Saturday night, but the bar staff seemed as if were more important to "impress" the regulars than just get us a couple of drinks. We sat in a quiet room, our... More

My wife and I stayed eat here for my 60th birthday whilst staying around the corner at the Sheraton. We'd booked this prior to our trip to the States for 2 reasons: (a) I love steak (who doesn't), and (b) the very positive reviews on tripadvisor. Well we weren't disappointed. I had a Lobster Bisque to start which was delicious... More

This location only has hightop tables that are too small for four people. We almost spilled soup several times. Good food and good service is canceled by bad tables for business.

This was our first time at The Capital Grille and it lived up to it's reputation. Both my husbands steak and my filet mignon were excellent, as were the desserts. Our server was very attentive, answered all our questions and made great menu suggestions. We can't wait to go back.

I have eaten at a number of steakhouses in Boston and CG has been consistently excellent. The steaks are really good and the atmosphere is very good.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
