Recently went back to L'Espalier after a 2 year hiatus. My first thought when I book a reservation there is "do I really want to spend that kind of money for dinner; is it worth it"? The answer is a big YES! The service is impeccable from the time you walk in until the time you leave. Presentation is creative... More

Went with my friend and his family. Fantastic food with great service, located in the heart of Boston. Really enjoyed ourselves.

Extremely good service to complement the very upscale atmosphere. Food was good but definitely on the expensive side. Be prepared to pay through your teeth.

Outstanding food, ambiance, and service. Graciously welcomed even though, due to an incomplete Open Table reservation, we were last minute walk-ins. We were on the way home to Cincinnati after 10 days in France and we had our best meal of the trip here at L'Espalier in Boston.

We have been to many great restaurants, however this is the best we have ever had the pleasure to be served the best meal ever. The service was far superior to what you would see in most fine dining places. You would never know what to expect as you board the elevator to take you to the restaurant, but once... More

Excellent atmosphere and impeccable service. I do not recommend the Halibut it is bland with a corn sauce. The venison and lobster were fantastic. Also the duck is exceptional.

This was a special wine-tasting night, with a fixed menu and a range of Italian wines. It was set in a small room, off the main restaurant, with around a dozen other diners. The Sommelier and Maitre D talked us through what we would eat and drink and, as usual, the service was impeccable. The food was stunning, so many... More

We went here for a small family get together and had a wonderful night. The amuse bouche were fun and yummy, the ashen cocktail martinis interesting and punchy. The wine list had some real treats, but- the grilled foie was cooked to perfection, and my lobster tails taught me that nearly all the lobster I had had before was badly... More

My wife and here went here for our anniversary. We were in from out of tow and looking for a great restaurant for our anniversary dinner. We carefully read reviews and got recommendations. We ultimately decided on L'Espalier. Based on reviews, the menu that we read online, and the price of the tasting menu ($118), we thought this meal would... More

Wonderful location for a business dinner - excellent service, wine selection and entrees. The staff anticipates our needs and provides a no rush, high end atmosphere.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
