What a gem! Atmosphere, service and of course, food, were all top notch. Love the variety of intimate rooms where dinner is served. We started with oysters rockefeller and braised octopus which were both excellent. Entrees and desserts as well, especially the lamb three-ways. Look...More

We ate upstairs at a table itoward the back in a very small well appointed dining room. It was quiet and intimate and the service was excellent. We tried everything it seemed and the meatballs on a skewer as an appetizer, were fantastic! The halibut...More

It’s amazing restaurant in Italian district with top notch kitchen. We have tried amazing ravioli with lobster, absolutely great Frutti di Mara (it’s not what we got used to. No spaghetti. Just small gnocchi with seafood. But very tasty). And very very good service!

My husband and I visited Mamma Maria (one of our North End favorites) for dinner on Saturday night. We were seated on the 2nd level, near the window, overlooking the street (ask for these 2 person tables if you want a good view). I started...More

Reviews drove me here as I've dined at quite a few different characteristic Italian North End restaurants. Most people find Mamma Maria terrific. Heirloom tomatoes, carpaccio and rabbit pasta. Sophisticated, perhaps. No "pop". Tomatoes were tasteful, but uninspired. The carpaccio, so disappointing. Unbalanced beef &...More

This restaurant in Boston's North End (Little Italy) is everything the glowing reviews say it is. This is not a spaghetti and meatball joint, but a charming restaurant that serves genuine gourmet Italian food from various regions in Italy. The dining rooms look out through...More

We were 8 celebrating a birthday at Mamma Maria. All the dishes everyone ordered were excellent, we shared couple of entrees; carpaccio, fig with prosciutto, meat balls and zucchini, all were excellent, including the warm bread with pesto. Everyone in our party agreed all the...More

Made reservations for my husband's birthday, asking for a "nice table". We were seated in a spot with large family tables, one of which was extremely loud. Conversation was difficult as all we could hear was the other party. Management didn't do anything about it,...More

Everything from the homemade pesto and bread appetizer to entree to dessert was amazing. Quaint & cozy with lots of stairs between the small dining areas in the first and second floors. Would recommend asking for a table on the 2nd floor or terrace/patio with...More

It depends how many people you have. If you can, I would suggest to go and look at the restaurant before. When we were there for dinner, we went upstairs and the rooms we saw were not too big. But if you only have about... More
