Make no mistake, this is not one of your usual touristy, red sauce, establishments that pervade the north end. this is on the higher end of the spectrum, starting with the food , and continuing with the ambience, the service and the wine. We happened...More

Dinner for myself and hubby on our latest Boston trip. We wanted Italian but a bit special. A friend recommended Mamma Maria. The place is unassuming; dim lighting, comfortable furnishings and traditional art on the wall. The staff were welcoming and although busy, they all...More

Small dining rooms. Good (but not great) service. Drinks were SLOW. Food was excellent to incredible. The octopus / squid was amazing. The Ossobuco was crazy good. Overall a great meal, but could be even better!

Great service and food. As with most north end restaurants you need to take a taxi or use the fairly expensive but very convenient ($25 cash only) valet service. The menu changes regularly but did not live up to the promising variety on the website....More

My wife now deceased, this dinner and friendly chats with host, server, and adjacent diners was in the perfect...More

We dined here on a Sunday evening and there was alot of energy. There are several floors with smaller rooms in each. We had nice views over looking the north end area and on into downtown. The food was really good--inventive yet not scary. The...More

We were there just a couple of weekends ago. It was very nice and I’d recommend it. But I don’t see it being a good place for New Year’s Eve.
