The food was good. I had one of the specials and my husband had the linguine with mussels. We were there early enough with only a 15 min or so wait and it was nice out we decided to have dinner there. like I said the food is good but I don't get the lines around the block and I... More

Giacomo's was recommended to us as a "must do" while in Boston. After a wonderful day in the North End, we joined a short line (it got longer as we dined) and waited just 15 minutes or so to get a table at this tiny restaurant. Knowing what we know now, we would have waited an hour + or longer.... More

Hard to find better Italian food in Boston than they have at this tiny restaurant. Delicious food. Great atmosphere. Reasonable prices. The downside is, it's so popular, people start lining up for dinner as early as 3:30-4:00 pm every day of the week so be prepared to stand in line for a while if you want to eat here. Here's... we felt like we were at someone's home, not in a restaurant. it's cozy, and you have to wait outside, but they turn over quickly - the food is authentic and delicious! our server (chris) was awesome - i was debating between two items, chose the lobster with fravolo sauce from specials menu, but then chris brought me a small... We had a flight at 8 p.m. so this was my last chance to eat in the North End and it would be an early one. I had seen the line outside Giacomo's at 7 p.m. the night before and was in no mood to wait when there are so many wonderful places to eat in the North End. But... More

In the world of fancy fancy foodie places, Giacomo's is not. It's just simply good Italian food. You'll have to wait outside, even it's cold, but for less than a $100 for 2 you'll have a great meal with good wine. I don't think it gets much better than that.

If you go to Boston's North End, you MUST go to Giacomo's. Yes, wait in the line. The staff is great, food is authentic, and it is brought out quickly. Afterward, head over to Mike's Pastries to top off the night. This is my favorite Boston restaurant and I have been to all of them!

Only so-so. Didn't have to wait too long but the service was super quick once we sat down. They do have a $20 bottle of wine list. So we started with a bottle of Pinot Grigio. The complementary bread was delicious. I ordered the penne chicken and wasn't too impressed. Very thick and creamy sauce. Big servings.

I was already planning on taking my mother to dinner at Giacomo's. I was happy to find out that my cousin, now a local, loved Giacomo's and had been there several times. I was on a mission to get there by 3:45 pm but parking is a total disaster in the North End. Try to walk if you can or... More

It is true, you will stand in line and the service is super fast! We got there very shortly after they opened, so we didn't wait too terribly long. It is a different experience. This is not a leisurely meal where you linger over your wine. But, it is a good experience. The food is delightful and our server was... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
