They were able to kill (twice) all the fish dishes. Tuna was unacceptable with a gross dressing, the Haddock was tinny, salty, greasy and with too much bread crumbs. The bread is a goowy 3 days old. Bottom line, not on our list any more. Disclosure: we did eat in another location and had better experience this year), and the... More

No reservations or credit cards but the food makes the wait worth it. This tiny place in the North End only seats 20 people so plan on waiting, we had a 30 min wait starting at 5:30, and the table was in a corner that made seating tight, but the food makes it all worth it! Had a wonderful appetizer... More

When in Boston, you must try this place. The food was PHENOMENAL!!!! TRIED the ground Squid with black pasta and Garlic shrimp. Doesn't sound good but really tasty. There is ALWAYS, I MEAN ALWAYS a line out front. The whole place holds about 20 people. I would not recommend a large party there. You will not be disappointed!!!

This place was stuck in my mind for almost 30 years since I first ate in it somewhere around 1987. I remembered it as one of the best meals I had - thought I was a young fella back then. So when I had a business trip to Boston I rushed to eat there. The place is tiny and it... More

We ate lunch here and I had the black pasta with squid that everyone raves about. It was okay, not one of my favorites, but I guess it's personal taste. The place is TINY and stuffy. I wouldn't wait in line to get in here.

I got to tell you first impressions were not to good. We entered the restaurant and was told somewhat abruptly to wait outside. There were people in front of us they were waiting 45 minutes. We waited patiently although there were several parties who were there after us who got seated before us. We assumed because they were a party... More

The linguine with scallops entree served in the frying pan was delicious, although at $25 a bit expensive for a lunch entree in a small restaurant requiring many diners to share a table with others. The waiter, a member of the owner's family, keeps things moving, as there is often a line of individuals on Hanover Street waiting to be... More

I was there today, excellent seafood. But let me tell you, the owner/manager had horrible and short manners when he greeted me. Stocky guy, Italian looking, green T-shirt. To tell you the truth, he acted like he was just out of jail. Nice Chinese cook otherwise, he cooked in front of me.

If you like #seafood and #pasta 🍝, the The Daily Catch @ North End in #Boston #massachusetts is your place. Their signature dish is black pasta which is a linguine made with #squid ink 🐙 , fresh vegetables 🥒 , onions , mushrooms 🍄 and scallops . Their Sicilian style mussels are very interesting. Very small restaurant. Open kitchen. Very... More

While doing some exploring on Sunday, my sister and I saw the very long line to get into The Daily Catch for lunch right up until dinner. Of course, we were very curious about the food. On Tuesday, we went back to the restaurant for lunch and were were (thankfully) able to get a table. Lucky for us, we had... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
