The issue with Berkeley Perk is less about their food but more their service. The staff there are a bit grumpy if you are new to the scene but do seem to go above and beyond for their regulars. The food is decent enough, if you can get past feeling like you are disrupting the people taking your order.

Go here!!! We've been to a couple places for breakfast since we've arrived ... but this place is MUCH cheaper - and just as good!! We're talking $50 vs. $17 ... this place is great value

Just around the corner from the Chandler Inn I came in here twice for food and coffee. Very reasonably priced and welcoming

Enjoy the food every time I come here. It is tasty and fresh. Love the o,elected and tea in the morning. While reading the paper and for lunch when I am doing my emails while traveling!

The omelette with avocado was nice enough and the bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese ok. Not the friendliest service though. When I asked for a glass for my juice without ice, it was met with raised eyebrows and a sigh and what do you want?! Shame as could have been a nice place to hang out on a... More

Budget friendly places are few and far between in the Back Bay area of Boston, but this is one of them. The menu featured many breakfast options in the $5 range, but we were there for lunch. My California Dreaming sandwich was $6.50 featuring thick slices of turkey with avacado. Delicious. My husband's grilled cheese had sun dried tomatoes, giving... More

Just wanted some where close to grab a bite. This place was an amazing find. Wide variety of choices for toasted sandwiches and wraps, which were delicious. Drinks we superbly made! It's order and pay at the counter, so service was a little rushed, but all in all GREAT SPOT!

I have breakfast here about once per month and it is always great. It has booths and some comfy chairs and is somehow never crowded. There is a steady stream of regulars who get their food to go. The coffee and cappuccino are very good and I love the breakfast sandwiches. You order at the counter and they bring the... More

I love bagels and it is the first time I have one with sesame on both sides (yes, also on the bottom side). Stayed on the same block (Chandler Inn) and had breakfast and went back every morning, except on Sunday, only because it was closed (sorry about that!). Friendly staff, more than reasonably priced.

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
