I love Boston because of its' history and the Warren Tavern comes through big with the history! The burgers were good and they have Down East Cider on drought, which was a plus.

We came on a cold day, and loved the soup and chicken sandwich, who warmed us up. Good atmosphere and music too.

If you are interested in American history this neighborhood and this tavern is a must. Any time I can visit a place that Washington was in is a place worth visiting. In addtion the food isn't bad either. There may be better clam chowdah in Boston but ours was really good. The pretzel sticks were outstanding and the beer selection... More

Nice atmosphere. Great place to grab a pint and relax. Nostalgic, can not help but feel the History. I felt like fighting the red coates after hanging out here. Grilled chicken ceasar salad was surprisingly really good. Will definitely go back.

Great Onion Soup and Seafood Casserole, and of course a well poured Guinness. We stopped here after being nearby for an event. We were with family who knew it well and wanted us to get the historical experience of going there ourselves. It was a good take and the fare varied from a reuben to a seafood special to truffle... The place has a nice atmosphere. We took a plate of clams and breaded fish with lemon and butter. Great flavor and certainly fresh fish. Unfortunately the service was very slow and we were charged a dish we had not ordered. However the waitress quickly resolved with courtesy and expertise. Definitely a place to return to. Their large fireplace was... More

The Warren Tavern has a lot of history, but not much more going for it. Ambiance is a little run down, it’s dark and dingy and the place just looks dirty. It’s just another run of the mill tavern … that some very historic people visited. They have a pretty good beer selection and the food is a bit better... More

The restaurant was very noisy but staff was friendly and their shepherd's pie was the best I have ever had!

Warren Tavern is a little off the beaten path, which was a great advantage. We walked from our Marriott Residence Inn hotel. We were there on a Friday evening. It is a small tavern but well worth the hour wait for a table. Food was phenomenal! The clam chowder is highly recommended! Atmosphere was inviting.

Staying in Charlestown

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlestown’s hilly roads, narrow streets and gaslight lamps, make it an enticing neighborhood to visit. Follow the Freedom Trail over the Washington St bridge from the North End or take the scenic water locks to Paul Revere Park. Walk through City Square and stroll down cute Main street, wandering up the windy residential streets to Monument Square, where you can learn about the city’s history along with a great view of Boston at the Bunker Hill Monument. While it’s not a huge area, there are some excellent restaurants. Find your way to the Charlestown Navy Yard, which is a developing area with lots of condos and an additional site for Massachusetts General Hospital research centers. Here you will also find the USS Constitution Museum. After you’re done, hop on an MBTA ferry at the dock on Baxter street and zip on over to Long Wharf and the New England Aquarium.
