Chacarero is one of my favorite and affordable stops for a fast lunch in Boston's financial district. My favorite is the their perfectly seasoned vegetarian Chilean sandwich -- a sweet roll with a spicy avocado spread, green beans, roasted peppers and cheese. The small is plenty big. I usually have the intention of eating half, but it's so good I... More

Chacarero serves authentic Chilean lunch food. What everyone goes there for are the Chilean flatbread sandwiches. Whether you get veggie, chicken, or beef, you will love it. It is also nothing like the standard lunch fare. Come and see why the line forms (although it moves fast)

This sandwich is one of my favorites, since I moved away I look for opportunities to get up and make sure I get one. It is hard if you do not visit during the week as they are closed on weekends. Had one today so worth the trip!

They used to be located in downtown crossing in the 90s and the lines were down the block and around the corner. Now located in the Financial District, the lines still go out the door and down the street at lunch time. I mention this b/c this place has consistently been a local favorite for the locals at lunch time.... More

This place is so simple and unassuming that I often forget how good it is and what a great lunch option it gives anybody in downtown Boston. They basically have one or two sandwich options, each with a couple variations, and they do them just about as well as you can imagine them being done, by way of repetition and... More

Tried Chacarero today after passing by the restaurant yesterday. Wasn't sure what to expect for a vegetarian sandwich but it is the same as a chicken or beef sandwich with no meat. I like the fact that the veggies were cooked beans versus the typical lettuce and tomato. I asked for mild spice but could probably up the spice next... More

How does grilled chicken, avocado, green beans, hot sauce, salt and pepper with cheese on a homemade roll sound to youl? Run, do not work. Consider yourself lucky if you live or work nearby.

I remember the first bite I ever had . It was about four years ago when they didn't even accept credit cards . I haven't been there in over two years . Unfortunately it wasn't as hot and melted as it used to . Felt like it was missing flavor . Not to mention prices when up by a lot... More

I have been here several times and I honestly don't think it is so good but it is not bad either. They have nice options for lazy lunch at a low price and you get your order quite fast. Their bread is good and sandwiches are quite big.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It has basic ingredients but when put together, it is outstanding. If you haven't had one of the original sandwiches, get there ASAP.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
